28 Chinese Christians held by George W's #1 Trade Partner

Chinese authorities detained 28 Christians in a raid on an unauthorized church service at a private home, an overseas monitoring group said Friday.

Three members of the non-denominational Protestant congregation, including the host and the presiding minister, still were being held, the Texas-based China Aid Association said.

Chinese law does not allow Christians to worship outside Communist Party-controlled churches, although millions do so in underground congregations across much of the country.

5. My wife is a Chinese Christian so I know a little about this subject.

The Chinese government is trying to keep out the extreme forms of Christianity. My Chinese mother-in-law goes to China every few years and no one bothers her when she spreads the gospel. She belongs to the Chinese Community Christian Church. If she belonged to some far out group she would be in trouble.

I don't think it really matters what particular denomination these 28 people belong to.

What does matter, is that while the far right has been busy making outlandish claims about Christians being persecuted, here at home, by 'secularists' and whatever other word they can add to the lexicon - and it's not true.

What IS true, is that Christians are REALLY being persecuted - by the United State's #1 trade partner, Communist China.

50 years ago, the enemy of the United States was the ''Godless'' Communists.

Today, the Right-Wing's ''enemy'' is a domestic Fifth Column, and the Godless Communists are our #1 exporter.
