Why not celebrate the deaths at gitmo too?
We have been told that only terrorists are being held there, four years and counting after we invaded and occupied Afghanistan and captured these people. We have been assured that these are all 'bad men', all al qaeda or taliban, all conspirators in the attacks of 9-11 or the protection of al qaeda in Afghanistan. We have been told that very soon, any year now, they will all be properly run through a military tribunal and appropriate punishment, most likely execution, meted out. So why not have front page death portrait photographs of the three suicides? Why all the reticence?

Why shouldn't we be celebrating these deaths too?

Where is our faithful media?

Why are DU'ers never willing to stand and cheer for their country?

2. Yeah, but they commited suicide.
Now if we had dropped a coupla 500 pounders on Gitmo, then we could stand up and cheer.

5. So it is the manner in which they die that is important.
Interesting. Hadn't considered that. So the full death celebration requires a violent death delivered by our troops, preferably with lots of high explosives. Hmmmm...

4. Oh sure FR - that's a given.
But why aren't half of the folks here also cheering the untimely deaths of three more terrorists?

I realize that there are differences between these deaths and a recently demised terrorist in Iraq, but bad guys are bad guys so I don't see why we aren't having an even bigger celebration over three times the deaths.

Or maybe I am just being deliberately obtuse.

6. Not only terrorists but "the world's most dangerous terrorists"
per Mr. Rumsfeld. Although, that was before it was learned that 80% of them had never even raised a weapon against an American.

In any case, they are very dangerous, aren't they?

13. Oh I agree.
And our nation has bought a whole lot of bad karma lately. But that is beside the point. Why isn't President Bush trotting to the west wing right now to make an important announcement that three more real bad terrorists are dead?

12. PRAISE BUSH!!! Bend over for your master NOW!!!!
This is a major victory for us against the terrorists. I mean now we don't even have to kill them, we have them so scared their doing it themselves!!!! OK, we are gonna have this war over soon. This is exactly like Hitler and the rest of the Nazis at the end of WWII. YEAH!!!!! Don't be surprised if in a few days we hear Osama took care of himself for us!:sarcasm:
