Thank God, I've helped friends avoid shame of being a conspiracy theorist
Edited on Sat Jun-10-06 11:15 AM by IndyOp
I, too, refuse to wear an effing tinfoil hat because cotton does feel better!

For goodness sakes, please DO stop thinking before someone can call you a conspiracy theorist. This is what I counsel all of my friends to do --

My friend Becky has found lipstick on her husband's shirts occasionally for the last few months and found a pair of women's panties - not hers - beneath the seat of the minivan when she cleaned it out yesterday. But I told her: Don't you put on a tinfoil hat! Wear cotton, it feels better.

My friend Greg has been getting all of these emails asking for his social security number and credit card information because websites he has never logged onto say that they need the information so that they can watch out for his privacy. I tell him: Don't you put on a tinfoil hat! Wear cotton, it feels better.

My friends Carl and Steve got some advice to invest in a brand new big-box bookstore that will be built right next to two other big-box bookstores in our small town. They are wondering whether they should invest or not because they aren't sure whether they should trust their investment advisor, since his brother owns the local construction company that will make huge profits just by building the store. I tell them: Don't you put on a tinfoil hat! Wear cotton, it feels better.

THANK GOD I HAVE HELPED STEER MY FRIENDS AWAY FROM THE SHAME OF BEING A CONSPIRACY THEORIST.

:sarcasm:

The 13 Techniques for Truth Supression

3. Characterize the charges as "rumors" or, better yet, "wild rumors." If, in spite of the news blackout, the public is still able to learn about the suspicious facts, it can only be through "rumors."

5. Call the skeptics names like "conspiracy theorist," "nut," "ranter," "kook," "crackpot," and of course, "rumor monger." You must then carefully avoid fair and open debate with any of the people you have thus maligned.

10. Characterize the crimes as impossibly complex and the truth as ultimately unknowable.

12. Require the skeptics to solve the crime completely. For example: If Vince Foster was murdered, who did it and why?

3. I was ridiculed by some family and friends...
Edited on Sat Jun-10-06 11:23 AM by Virginia Dare
during the run up to the Iraq war when I was saying that no WMD's would be fine and it was all a big lie.

They refused to believe that the Bush Administration could be so depraved. They called me a conspiracy nut.

Conspiracies do exist. The government lies. The government covers up. Some theories are more believable than others, but I will never ridicule anyone for thinking outside the box.

In my opinion it is healthy to maintain a degree of skepticism when it comes to anything we are being fed by the U.S. Government through a collusive media.

10. What I couldn't post as that thread got locked.
Edited on Sat Jun-10-06 11:55 AM by Warren Stupidity
To the OP of that thread:

Lets start with the Iraq war. We know for an absolute fact that the administration conspired to deceive congress and the american people as to the real reasons and motivations for our invasion and occupation of Iraq. We know that the conspiracy to invade and occupy Iraq went public in 1998 with the infamous PNAC letter to Clinton. We also know that around that same time PNAC posted their equally infamous document that noted that absent a new pearl harbor it would take quite a while for them to get their show on the road. Shortly afterward we had a stolen election and a new pearl harbor. What a coincidence.

The fuckupocrisy lies about everything it does, even when it 'wins one'. They lied about Saddam and his 'spider hole', they lied about Torra Bora, they lied about Jessie Lynch, they lied about Pat Tillman. They lie about torture and executions conducted in our name around the world. They routinely lie about the thousands of Iraqis and Afghan civilians they have killed. Every piece of hideous legislation they put forth is entitled with a deliberately misleading name, a lie to cover their actual intentions. What the heck haven't they lied about? I start from the assumption that everything they say is a lie until proved otherwise.

I'm sorry some of us here, myself included, are going to continue to speculate about the lies misdeeds and conspiracies of the lying criminal and conspiratorial administration running our country. It seems that makes us, to you, paranoid nut-jobs. I'm sorry if you feel that way. I have no intention of stopping.

The Zarqawi execution continues to have numerous unanswered problems with the official party line, starting with who exactly was Zarqawi and why was his purported leadership role in the insurgency so loudly touted by our own ministry of disinformation.

11. conspiracy theorists and tin foil hats....
your problem is quite common, actually.

it's all in the TFH, and its construction.

aluminum foil is shiny. no problem there. shiny is good. that's why tin foil hats are so cool.

the tin foil hat MUST be in the shape of a pyramid.

you know, the all purpose power attracting shape of the universe. why do you think the egyptians got as far as they did?

but JUST a pyramid shape is not good enough.

each corner of the pyramid MUST have a small magnet in it. the magnets intensify the power of the basic pyramid a thousand fold.

needless to say, i can see the past AND the future, and in ALL variant timelines.

but I’m not revealing anything. your poor feeble mind could not handle it.

but a clue to you... those "conspiracy theories"?

they are ALL true.

:scared:
