Oblio spelled backwards is OILbo
This no doubt was one of Oblio's not so apparent points.

"The Point" was also about Oil.

Maybe even Peak Oil, since a point and oil together kind of POINTS to Peak Oil.

;)

Am I right?? Or am I left??

7. Apparently they do not like a teaser such as this.
Me and my arrow...

6. "You got to have a point - to have a point"
I can't believe I remembered that quote. I was eleven when that was televised. I remember nothing else about it, except one of Nilson's songs.

8. But remember...
a point in every direction is the same as no point at all.

Loved the special, love the album, and "Think about your troubles" is STILL one of my favorite tunes when I get depressed.

Sit beside the breakfast table
Think about your troubles
Pour yourself a cup of tea
Then think about the bubbles
You can take your teardrops
And drop 'em in a teacup
Take them down to the riverside
And throw them over the side
To be swept up by a current
Then taken to the ocean
To be eaten by some fishes
Who were eaten by some fishes
And swallowed by a whale
Who grew so old
He decomposed
He died and left his body
To the bottom of the ocean
Now everybody knows
That when a body decomposes
The basic elements
Are given back to the ocean
And the sea does what it oughta
And soon there's salty water
Not too good for drinking
'Cause it tastes just like a teardrop
So they run it through a filter
And it comes out from a faucet
And it pours into a teapot
Which is just about to bubble
Now
think about your troubles.

11. A point in every direction is the ultimate multi-dimensional
flip-flop.

I love the whole thing too, have on it on my iPod.

It is a very cheering story to listen to.

12. Ever been to New Delhi?
:)

I thought the final point of the Point was that there was no point (sorry if I am spoiling this for any of you)

15. No, never to New Dehli.
I never thought there was a final point, but a number of points along the way.

Like about conformity, perception, what's on the surface etc.

I guess the main point I would think is that there is a time to every purpose...

And that to everything there is a season...

(turn, turn, turn...)

And let's chill about looking for conformity or obvious purposes or points and just accept folks.

16. I love that movie and even hunted down a copy for my
18th mo. old son who was born with a cleft lip and pallet.
It's a great movie for instilling a sense of tolerance but I just don't see any "oil" connection. Sorry...

18. That's a great thing to have for your son.
I will admit I was being kinda facetious, aside from spelling Oblio backwards being Oilbo.

Everything else in the world today seems to relate to OIL, so why not?

;)
