Just how does B*sh plan to fight Iran?
All this Misadministration saber-rattling about Iran is getting more frightening by the day.

But what military forces does America have available to fight a ground war in Iran? We're already stretched terribly thin in Iraq. What's he going to do, call out the Boy Scouts?

Does B*sh plan to start a draft? I guarantee you that draft-age kids and their families are going to raise holy hell about that. Or leave the country. And we don't have the money to start another war, do we? Not with the enormous deficits the Misadministration has already run up.

Or does B*sh think the job can be done through air strikes? I don't know a thing about Iran's military capabilities, but I'm sure they would fight back -- hard. One would think Iran has planned for such an attack for years.

Or does B*sh plan to unleash the spectre of nuclear weapons against Iran? This option would almost certainly turn most of the world against America, if it isn't already against us due to the debacle in Iraq.

9. Sunburn - Sunscreen
10 year old weapon used by russia and china. Pretty sure we have developed a countermeasure over the last decade. Jane's has a more sensible approach to the wonderweapon than Rense.

Pretty sure in a shooting war that Iran would not be very successful.

Not going to happen anyway.

14. I'm sorry to inform you that we are a decade away from
anything close to the sunburn. here's a link to one site, google sunburn missiles and check it out.

15. I prefer Jane's defense
Rense is a joke.
The sunburn is 10 year old technology. It can be intercepted by missiles as a first line and the phalanx system as a second. These are on most capitol ships.

It can also be blown up on the ground before it was fired. Since Iran has zero chance in an air engagement.

I'm pretty sure the Navy has figured out something in the last decade..

Saber rattling.

16. I just looked and nowhere was anything written that would
indicate that the phalanx will be a defense against a missile traveling in excess of mach 11, point me in the direction of a link because I would like to be assured we have something to counter this missile. Iran is believed to have close to a hundred of these. I'd like to know.

help me out

5. I see the sabre rattling
as an attempt to get Europe to act to avert a war. They said a couple years ago that they would handle Iraq through negotiations. I think the Bush sabre rattling is just aimed at Europe saying you better get something done or something worse will happen.

The only military threat I see is an Israeli raid or air strike.

If I was Israel I'd sure be thinking of what I could do.

2. The Bush military strategy: Win the midterm elections.
The plan is to use war fever to elect Republicans, because filling the government with people who back the war and never criticize the president is the sine qua non of good strategy.

Once he removes all the doubters and silences dissent, the enemy will stop being encouraged and will give up. Or our troops will lose doubts and win. The precise mechanism isn't clear, but once Congress unanimously supports the president in whatever he wants to do, including a new round of tax cuts, the outcome will not be in doubt.

Iran. Iran will attack Israel. The US will rush to Israel's aid.

That is how the US plans to fight Iran.
