The Chicks are going to need our help on this one: CNN Poll
The poll isn't even active yet, but when it is we will need to hit it and hit it hard.

Would you go to a Dixie Chicks' concert?

Yes 0%

No 0%

LOS ANGELES, California (Reuters) -- Country music trio the Dixie Chicks, still taking heat for criticizing U.S. President George W. Bush, are weathering sluggish ticket sales in several cities for their upcoming U.S. tour, industry watchers reported on Thursday.

While early ticket purchases for their first major tour in three years are generally robust in Northeastern cities, initial sales have fallen short of expectations in numerous markets, especially in the Midwest and South, forcing some dates to be scrubbed.

By contrast, the group's latest album, "Taking the Long Way," opened atop the U.S. pop charts last week, selling 526,000 copies during its first seven days and remaining No. 1 in its second week to notch one of the year's strongest debuts.

But with many country music stations denying the Chicks airplay, box office business is off to a slow start in places where the group has sold out in the past, said Gary Bongiovanni, editor of concert industry magazine Pollstar.

6. Typical CNN misleading poll
It's not specific enough. Are they trying to find out if people are upset about the Chicks political views, or if people enjoy their music? Plenty of people might say "no" to this poll, who just don't like their music, so the results are going to be skewed.

It should include "due to their political views, would you go to a DC concerts?" or something to that effect.

7. Well, no I wouldn't.
So, for the sake of what you're trying to accomplish, I won't vote.

Sorry, I don't like their music even if I do agree with their politics.

I'm saving my money for The Who's mini-concert tour this fall, anyway.

9. Agreed. My money is being saved for Tool later this summer.
I appreciate their political stance, but I'm not going to suddenly like them, like some Lemmings, just because we share the same thoughts.

I don't see any country fans that are anti-war rushing out to buy A Perfect Circle's anti-war album, or the new Tool album that has an anti-war song on it.

10. They've chosen the world of Pop Music, so they have to abide by its rules,
which include fitting into some kind of commercially-viable category. The world of "country music fans" will not be enlightened by their views on Bush or even their courage in expressing those views, although a few eyes will be opened. Rather, the girls will have to choose whether to ride the pop music train and likely fade from view, or hone their music into something with a sharper edge and be content with a better oeuvre and smaller houses.
