Halry Barbour on FOX bragging that Miss is not into victimhood.
That's why I hate the Rethugs. Mississippi took the brunt of the hurricane winds and yes, there was a lot of rubble to be cleared. But Miss. did not have flood waters for over three days which is a hell of a lot different than clearing wind debris. AND Lott saw to it that Miss got everything it needed and more. Yet this a.m. the FOX news pundits and Barbour took it upon themselves to ridicule the people of NO and intimated that Miss people were not like those in NO. And the blonde bimbo interjected that should families be helping families instead of looking to the government to do everything, the inference being that the people in Miss. worked together to help each other. They totally ignored the many, many stories of NO families and people helping strangers and each other.
It makes me sick to hear these racist maggots flaunting their not so subltle bigotry. It seems that everytime I just look in on FOX "News" i am reminded of why I do not watch them regularly. This was a most shameful episode, especially since NO is still finding dead bodies in some flood ravaged homes.

3. Miss was
Hit by a hurricane, NO was hit by breeched Levy underfunded by the Bushies and left to rot for 3 or 4 days.

one was a natural disaster the other was a crime.

5. Why can't NOLA people act more like white people
Edited on Fri Jun-09-06 07:32 AM by Gman
is the inference. Reminds me of that woman being interviewed on TV in Mississippi Burning while the FBI was looking for the students' bodies. She said, "...day'er nut lak uz. Day're durty, day sa-mehl (smell)(only friggin' people in the world that can make a one syllable word into two syllables)..." That FRIGGIN' ALWAYS HAS BEEN the inference from the time when I first was able to understand anything about the world. Why can't they act more like white people? That's the entire frame of the Katrina response. That is the entire frame of the anti-illegals movement. That is the entire frame of the hate-Islamics thinking. (In this case, why can't they be WASP's.) That is the entire frame of the culture war Buchanan declared in 1992 in Houston. God I hate that shit!

9. He must be talking about a different state than the one I live in
I live in south Mississippi and not a day has gone by since the Hurricane that there has been in state whining about how New Orleans is getting all the attention and the government has ignored "us" and that the insurance companies are screwing us and that FEMA just isn't doing enough. Two weeks after the hurricane the line wrapped around the local baptist church with people waiting to get their free money card. Haley you are a liar but we both know that don't we.
