Did Zarqawi Willingly Sacrifice Himself For The Reward Money?

The cynical part of me wonders if the person who helped the military to locate Zarqawi did so with Zarqawi's approval... with the intent of taking the reward money and using it to fund more terrorist activities.

Or, is the reward money like a lottery winning. A BIG payout... but only if you're willing to accept monthly payments, or a SMALLER one-time lump-sum payment.
