SECRETIVE, POWERFUL BILDERBERG GROUP MEETS NEAR OTTAWA

Alexander Panetta, Canadian Press

(SNIP)

An unsigned press release, sent by fax, confirmed this year's meeting would deal with energy issues, Iran, the Middle East, terrorism, immigration, Russia, European-American relations and Asia.

(SNIP)

The release included a list of participants at this year's event.

The 2006 group includes David Rockefeller, Henry Kissinger, Queen Beatrix of Holland, New York Gov. George Pataki, the heads of Coca-Cola, Credit Suisse, the Royal Bank of Canada, cabinet ministers from Spain, Greece and a number of media moguls, including Globe and Mail newspaper publisher Philip Crawley. However, Bilderberg followers say that media moguls whose outlets report leaked details from the meetings will see themselves banned in the future.

The group also includes a pair of prominent figures involved in planning the U.S. invasion of Iraq — Richard Perle and Ahmad Chalabi. Fellow White House power-players Donald Rumsfeld and Paul Wolfowitz, now head of the World Bank, have spoken to the group in the past.

But Bilderberg is not exclusively a right-wing body, by any means. Bill Clinton's right-hand-man Vernon Jordan, was also in attendance Thursday, as was his Mideast negotiator Dennis Ross.

1. Apparently Alex Jones was detained by Canadian police last night
He was headed to the Bilderberg group to do an expose, but the Bilderbergs apparently had become aware of his arrival and exploited their privilege and had him 'knocked around a little bit'.

He said it was pretty rough, but actually the CBC(?) and a few other media outlets heard about it and started making some noise.

He said when he arrived at border security they called him by name and said Good Evening Mr. Jones.

It's up at his site I believe.

2. Wasn't Mark Warner at the last meeting?
And Edwards at the one before that?

Guess it helps for politicians to go and get their seal of approval! :eyes:

4. Good post. The "Bilderbergers" are not the "Masters of the Universe"
as some simpletons might believe, but it is one of many ways in which the very powerful movers and shakers get together and decide how to fuck us all over in order to further their power and wealth. Just business as usual.

5. But they are "Masters of the Planet".
Only the most powerful people on the planet.

7. I have to wonder why Perle, Chalabi and Kissinger are there
If you measure someone by the company they keep, then the rest of the attendees have now hit rock bottom. Those 3 are all one step ahead of jail - Chalabi's still wanted in Jordan to serve his sentence for fraud, Perle is enmeshed in the Hollinger saga, as well as his war-mongering activities, and Kissinger tiptoes round the world fearing warrants for war crimes. I think their personal power is now dubious as well - who thought it was a good idea to invite them? It does imply that the morals of the Bilderberg group are vanishingly small.

8. I was surprised by that as well. Chalabi? they're scraping the
bottom of the barrel with that greasy little con artist, aren't they?
sheesh, you'd think these "aristocratic" greed-heads wouldn't want anything to do with planetary trailer trash.

11. Information held?
It strikes me that this is not the sort of club from which
one simply choosed to retire ...

Given the knowledge that those three know about the current
and past leaders, I am not surprised that they are still
invited.
