Poll question: When will I start selling Ann Coulter's latest?
They tell me Ann Coulter's "Godless: An Autobiography" has already been marked down to $5 in many of your major metropolitan markets.

There's only two stops for a book after it gets marked down below the cost to print it: the Remainder Table, and the insulation plant.

I sell cellulose insulation.

So! When will Annthrax's latest brick o' lies make it to Aisle 20 at a Home Depot near you?

2. I didn't know cellulose insulation was made out of old books.
I live in a very old, poorly-insulated house, and I've been planning to get it insulated when I can afford it. Since the house has plaster walls and wood siding, I figured I'd have to get cellulose insulation blown in. But what kind of bad juju or evil karma will befall my house if AnnThrax Coulter's books are in my walls? Now I'm worried. Should I get fiberglass instead?

7. Get sprayed polyurethane foam if you can afford it
Sprayed polyurethane foam has the highest R-value per inch of any insulation on the market.

9. Thanks.
It would also have the salutary characteristic of not being made out of Evil Annie's books.

16. The term is "bulk purchasing"
Richard Mellon Scaife is notorious for this.

Assume a press run of a right winger's book is 100,000 impressions. Scaife will buy 50,000 of them and put them in a warehouse. (I was going to say "in two weeks" but it's there now) you can join the CONservative Book Club and receive three titles for a dollar apiece, plus shipping. Right now you have your choice of such great :sarcasm: books as Annthrax's "Godless," Laura Ingraham's "Shut Up and Sing" and Michael Savage's "The Liberal Zoo."

We still have 50,000 copies of this thing floating around out there. Public libraries are going to pick up quite a few of them--most reasonable people wouldn't actually buy this shitty book but quite a few (like a lot of DUers, so we'll be able to accurately refute the damn thing; falling back on "it's Coulter, she always lies" usually works but it's nice to have a little more detailed response) will read it. Let's throw out a number and say 10,000 copies go to libraries. Wal-Mart can probably get rid of 10,000 copies in seriously freeper-infested areas. Barnes & Noble, Waldenbooks, Borders and Books-a-Million combined can probably get rid of another 10,000--but the only way they'll ever be able to do it is admit what a worthless piece of trash it is and dump it for five bucks.

Most people would look at this shit and assume that the only thing it's good for is burning. Well...this year's version of the Punch Rare Corojo is on the market; they always wait until about a month before Father's Day to bring it in. Those are about five dollars each, and it's much more pleasurable to burn a fine cigar than a bad book.
