Fred Phelps Hates Fags
Republican troglodytes hate gays.

Ergo: Fred Phelps and Republican troglodytes and one and the same.

Someone explain to me why the Democrats don't hang Phelps around the neck of Republicans. They maintain essentially the same positions don't they?

The party of Fred Phelps, Ann Coulter, Jack Abramoff.

1. Democrats support (allegedly) the American worker
Communists support the American worker
Ergo, Democrats and communists are one and the same.

Can anyone tell me which logical fallacy this syllogism expresses?

4. What do you think they're doing?
Except the word is socialist. Which, by the way, I would be happy to be labeled.

2. Phelps ran for office a couple of times as a Dem and supported Gore '92
Obviously he is a not a liberal. People that supported him dropped him like a hot rock after they found out what he stood for. It was only later that he came out of the closet as a rightwing bigotted nut.

3. Perhaps because
Phelps is a Democrat? He has run as a dem several times. Nobody here claims him but then they don't have to, he can run as whatever he wants.

5. Doesn't really matter. His positions are Republican positions.
They both hate gays
They both hate military grunts
They're both religious fanatics

6. My guess would be because he's a Democrat
He's registered as a Democrat, has supported Democratic candidates, and ran for office as a Democrat. He was also really big in the antiwar movement in the '60s.

Go figure.

7. Part of the reason is that the man is loony toons
There were two instances in SW Missouri before I moved in which religious fundamentalists were trying to cram their lifestyle down all our throats. In one instance, a city had put a Christian IXTHUS fish on their city seal, which went on their city vehicles, and other city related items. Someone sued (ACLU was involved) and it went to courts. Ended up removed. In another town, a group of fundamentalists ganged up to force a band camp trip to Disney World, because of the gays. In both instances where religious fundamentalists were trying to foist their lifestyles on everyone else, Freddy P planned to come fight for Gawd, and in both instances he was begged to stay away--by the fundamentalist wack-os.

9. Fred Phelps and Ann Coulter should be married
But then again, it would be a gay marriage, wouldn't it?
