If we don't stir-up OUR faithful, we won't get the turnout we need
to counter the folks on the other side who are determined to define the next congressional election as a 'moral' war.

It's fine and necessary to spend time countering their nonsense about marriage bans, flag-burning bans, and immigration, but we should be spending as much, or more time stirring up our own faithful to rush the polls to take our country back.

I've noticed a tendency here and elsewhere, among our party advocates, to tamp down wild speculation and hyperbole. Frankly, I don't put anything beyond the Bush regime. NOTHING is too far out of question when considering how far they will go to destroy our democracy and keep us yoked to generations of manufactured militarism.

If we don't pull our punches, and if we challenge voters to imagine the cataclysmic catastrophe that two more years of republican control will bring, we will demonstrate, clearly and unambiguously, where the true opposition lies. That's the key to victory in November.

Voters need to know that our party, in power, will stand firmly against the assaults on our Courts; on the investments we make to help Americans grow and prosper; on our privacy and our civil rights; on our fragile environment; and on the institutions which were intended for reaching out to the rest of the world in peace, not as instruments to promote war.

'Couldn't happen' is a phrase which should never be associated with the Bush regime and their cohorts.

'Anything can happen' (and, has), should be our mantra.

1. Ya'll have to show up in numbers too big to ignore. That means a turnout
of 75% in the next election. They will not be able to gerrymander that. Last elections.. it has been a pathetic 65%.

So all you people in the USA.. comit to getting out the vote. That means offering your car and services a few nights a week to get the elderly or poor or young to the place to register. Block parties. Volunteer with your friends to man the local dem office a few nights a week so the professionals can do something else.

Really. The time is now!

3. I agree, but we did have an amazing turnout in 2004, and we won, and
they still took office.

7. Well, In Addition to Demanding Verification!
Demanding it Now! Find out Today what's happening in your area; Do something, Do anything. But, in addition...

If we can show up in numbers that DWARF those of the Republicans, we will either overwhelm the statistical range to which they're willing or able to 'alter' the vote, or we'll highlight their deception by making the exit polls as well as turnout numbers so clearly Democratic that we can make a much stronger case for recounts/investigations as needed.

We can't stop trying whatever happens or what has happened.

4. Oh, no! We gotta get the NASCAR moms
and soccer dads.

they'll change EVERYTHING - as long we have a strong message that is not offensive to bigots, and doesn't challenge their current world view.

8. I think the "faithful" would be more stirred up if our leadership
reflected the grassroots values and ideas. DC Dems are far afield right now and need to be reined in or cut loose.

9. We really need a populist platform
Too many people won't bother to vote because their needs aren't being talked about. How about addressing the unfair ss payroll tax, the draconian druglaws, health insurance for everyone, real aid in low income help for housing, food, and giving people a living wage.

11. we have to promote it without apology and with passion
We have to challenge voters to imagine two more years without addressing these, and make them realize that THEIR interest are at stake and on the eve of either being aggravated or addressed.

10. In numbers too big to ignore - to quote Helen Ready - let that or
something like it be your motto.
