Well, he made it for the House and Fiengold for the Senate, but between the two of them he is the champion progressive (and patriot too) in all of Congress. It must be lonely up in Washington when you really try to do your job instead of whoring for the fascists.

Alas, the title of this thread says something more... Conyers talks impeachment; unfortunately, talk is pretty much all Democrats are allowed to do (and most con't even do much of that and some are rather ominously silent).

The approaching 2006 elections are of such overwhelming importance, we must take action now, and with such passion and dedication that it should seem positively "radical" to most of us. That's because it's do or die; we simply have to make a difference.

We can't just go about things as usual; that hasn't worked. This should involve larger (than ever before) donations (of the painful variety), but more importantly... Democratic Evangelism (we need to reach the politically inactive with the message that politics matter, are among our duties as citizens, and that our government is dysfunctional due to the Repug majority and needs nothing short of being "saved"! O8)).

Let's say and do the right things. IMPEACHMENT...that is the logical conclusion.

1) Lies about war -- the reason, the progress.
2) Spying on US citizens.
3) Assault and battery -- neglect of Katrina victims.

How's that for a start.

...today's news that the Justice Dept. is going to investigate the whistleblower who leaked the news that bush* is conducting illegal domestic spying. The bush* cabal has a long history of intimidating & punishing whistleblowers, and today's news is just the latest example of that.
