An organic farmer with a degree in music, it was hard, but at the last minute my mom changed her mind because of a LTTE describing how down to earth Tester was, and how out of touch Morrison was. I think this is the key. People are sick of smoke and mirrors. We need the real deals and this is a great sign of things changing.

For much of the primary race, Morrison vastly outstripped Tester in fundraising. By the time voters went to the polls Tuesday, Morrison had raised more than $1.5 million, while Tester had raised only about $850,000, neither of which compared to the $6.2 million that Burns raised, according to the Center for Responsive Politics, a nonpartisan group that tracks campaign donations.
But Morrison saw some of that advantage dwindle after the news of his affair broke. Morrison hired an outside investigator to supervise the state probe into the dealings of Kalispell businessman David Tacke, and denied the affair with Tacke's fiance influenced his handling of the case.
Although Tester never attacked Morrison directly on the issue, he began touting himself as the only candidate who could hold his own with Burns when it came to ethical questions.

"Honestly, I just want Conrad Burns out," said Luke Muszkiewicz, 28, a software engineer from Helena. As for the candidate who could best accomplish that goal, "I was pretty much on the line until a few weeks ago," he said. When recent polls showed Tester and Morrison statistically tied, Muszkiewicz made his choice: "Tester."
