Need to lose weight? Try the Pat Robertson Diet Shake
I've used Vitamin Shoppe for years but someone recommended some GNC product to me and I went there today to buy some. I had no idea they sold this crap and I'm half tempted to return my purchase even though I didn't buy anything Pat Robertson related. I'm debating if I should return my product - I checked out GNC on Buy Blue and they were 60-40 for donations (favoring R) and the CEO Joseph Fortunato has given to both Orrin Hatch AND Christopher Dodd (talk about opposites)

Televangelist's diet shake, distributed by GNC, draws ire
Monday, August 22, 2005

By The Associated Press

NORFOLK, Va. -- Religious broadcaster Pat Robertson's "age-defying" diet shake, promoted by a Pittsburgh body-builder, is causing quite a stir.

The shake isn't new; Robertson has been touting its benefits on his nonprofit Christian Broadcasting Network and giving away the recipe free for years. But Robertson recently teamed up a Columbus, Ohio-based manufacturer and General Nutrition Corp., a Pittsburgh-based health-food chain, to distribute the shake nationally.

That's caused at least one evangelical watchdog group to claim Robertson is abusing his nonprofit status and a scorned bodybuilder who used the shake to help lose nearly 200 pounds to threaten legal action.

The televangelist and host of the daily "The 700 Club" says he's simply exercising his right to start a business.

4. Well I don't listen to AAR so hopefully that's true
I don't get AAR in my area and I don't have satellite - that's the only reason I don't listen

3. I think I heard GNC no longer carries that stuff
Edited on Tue Jun-06-06 12:07 PM by Bluzmann57
I heard it on Stephanie Miller's show earlier today that GNC has dropped Robertson's product from their stores. Good for them. Hope they don't have some misfortune befall them, like fire or an explosion. Of course if anything like that should happen, it'd be "God's will" anyway.

6. I'm hoping that's the case
and I would assume that GNC would carry what product is left.
