McCain: "I was just sad. You had a group of young people who are liberals"

http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/TheNote/story?id=156238

<snip>

Asked how he restrained his temper when he received a hostile reception at the New School University's commencement, McCain said: "I was just sad. You had a group of young people who are liberals and they don't want to listen to the news of someone who disagrees with them. . . We have to remember who the real enemy is. . ."

1. I'm sure he meant listen to the *views*
And enough people in the US think the real enemy is young people who are liberals, and old people who are liberals, too...

2. McCain, they don't want to listen to you because you are a shill
you are nothing more than a patehtic Bush sycophant.

The biggest and best reason for protesting GOP apologists at commencement addresses is because they all give the same speech.

I mean, come on:

You graduate from college after working your ass off for four years, and how are you rewarded?

You get to watch some two-bit hack talk about how great Bush is, how right the war is, and then give you the same talking points that the media force-feeds you every single day.

Whatever happened to those commencement speeches where the speaker actually addressed the graduating class and gave them bits of insight and wisdom to take with them?

11. Uh-huh
One might think these fine "Christians" would have some understanding of what "as ye sow, so shall ye reap" means. "Conservatives" have devoted a lot of energy and money over the last several decades into driving a wedge into American politics, hoping to come up with the bigger half. Well, congratulations, the success of this polarization campaign is very impressive. Suck it up, McCain.

4. We know who the enemy is, Senator
and it is a RepubliCON who participate in demonizing fellow Americans. If I want to listen to a member of a political party which is operated by the Rev. Moon and a bunch of televangelists, I'll turn on Rush Limbaugh. The sad thing is that you mortgaged your soul to Jerry Falwell. Once you did that, what ideas could you possibly have to share about making America whole again?

5. Would not the "hostile reception" have been a result of those
wacky liberals listening to what John had to say in the past? Oh john, you are such a card; I'm a vet who swore to support and defend the constitution, there is no doubt in my mind who the real enemy is.

13. yes - the very recent past
the way I understand it, all she did was do a polite "pre-sponse" to his speech, the same one he had given before. Way to show how to rise to occasion, there: too lazy to write another speech?

15. They're citizens, you piece of shit
and they'll be the ones paying for your war, either with their pocketbook or their blood.

If there is a independent, let alone a Democrat, who's even considering supporting McCain, I would suggest to drown yourself in the nearest lake. McCain is as transparent as a sheet of glass. Fuck him.
