WSU is in the "inner city" of Detroit. I'm an alum, too. It'd be interesting to know how 'formative' those years were for her.

Old Main was a former high school and the building was converted for WSU classroom space. Midge's was a trestle-table burger-in-a-basket grill/restaurant where a lot of students hung out - particularly fraternity/sorority types. (And GDIs.) It was a kind of 'student union' - for those of us who didn't like the student union.
