Defense of Marriage?
WTF?

Then why don't they outlaw divorce?
That would make way more sense then a gay marriage amendment.

As if either one makes any sense.

Of course this is the same folks that are anti-stem cell research yet you hear not a peep from them wanting to ban fertility clinics.
Go figure.

2. I keep remembering how well the Republicans on Capitol Hill
stood up and "defended" the marriage of Michael and Terri Schiavo.

8. I strongly disagree
The Talibangelicals pushing for this "defense of marriage" all cite the Bible, one and all. Therefore, we should impose the Biblical punishment for adulterers, and have the people involved put to death by stoning.

10. Armageddon already took place as prophesied, on time and under budget
The Book of Revelations is not prediction, it is first hand account. We are the descendants of those left behind, even the fundies. Which certainly would explain a lot of things, wouldn't it? :hi:

5. Today on the Majority Report
Sam Seder was discussing the SC decision in Loving vs. Virginia. It really is remarkable to think how that case was decided in 1967 and up until that time it was against the law across the south for blacks and whites to marry. That wasn't that long ago. The same people who wrote those racist laws are the same people who will support this amendment. It just makes me ill.

I have to say this: four houses down from me lives a lesbian couple. Everyone likes them, they are really lovely women. And in all the years we have all lived here, no one that I know has gotten divorced. Now, how can that be?

7. Gays WANT to get married, how does preventing them attack marriage ?
Seems to me that the bill should be renamed the Gay Bashing Amendment.
