Such an issue, deciding "rights" by virtue of one's sexual preference is nothing short of one's ego overtaking their sound mind, if it existed in the first place.

I defy anyone to refute this based in anything other than their own selfish belief.

I've got an hour or so...someone, please, prove me wrong.

1. Plenty of gays judge me.
Feel free to judge.

2. For what specific reason?
For the record, I don't judge. Sort of an across-the-board rule with me.

5. Mostly our looks, age, clothes, car, hair, shoes, shoes, shoes.
There are those gays who don't frequent this board who are just as shallow as most Americans obsessed with Trading Spouses and Survivor. Then there's the womyn, who keep gay men around as pets, just to soundboard off on their latest male-bashing retort.:eyes:

9. Okay, but
that's not gay-specific, if I can be so bold. One who judges, does so, regardless of sexual orientation, right?

I'm not gay, and I get judged on the very same things, as we all do by some folks. Gay, straight, men, women...shallowness exists. My point is that how dare someone, anyone judge another based on them being gay, straight, bi or otherwise. If one is to be a vapid, empty, shell of a person, judging another based on their choice in loafers, then so be it. BUT, if one wants to make a case on the rights of a person based on their love interest, then, well...fuck them. Sorry, but that's my opinion.

3. Wonder when the neocons will push making it illegal to marry
brunettes. Hair color makes as much sense as singling out gender/orientation as to what attracts one person to another.

I won't argue with you. I did recommend your thread though ;)

7. Very good point.
Or, when will it be illegal to cross ethnic barriers? When will we not be able to marry outside our "race" makeup? Hell, maybe they won't want me to marry someone that eats meat. Beliefs, don't you know.

Will my blonde hair and blue eyes relegate me to only marry amongst the "purest" of the aryan race? Will I have to then ignore my Nemasket Indian blood?

Hell no, and I'll "bloody my knuckles" to assist my brothers and sisters in a fight that, although it isn't mine, it is mine.

4. Slightly off topic, well not really but.
It's a pet peeve of mine. When women learn that I'm gay, I can predict with startling accuracy of what they'll say.

Oh' God! What a waste!

I haven't done any scientific study, but I'd say 60% of women, at least say that. I know they think they're being complimentary, but it irritates the SHIT out of me! You want me to go shopping for shoes with you after THAT?:grr:

How am I a waste? I'm one less ring buyer, lawn mower, trash disposer, long haired knight on a romance cover? That I'm not worthy of occupying this body you seem to want to take posession of an hour after you met it? What?

10. It would seem that you might be the
epitome of masculinity, regardless of being gay.

I honestly do understand what you're saying. I'm somewhat of an activist for gay rights, though not being gay myself. When around a number of men that may well assume, because of the present company kept, that I'm gay, also say the same.

To be honest, I'm flattered. But that's me, and I admit to being a bit of a diva.

12. I wouldn't say that to you.
If I was around your friends, and heard one of them say that, I wouldn't comment, but I'll definitely roll my eyes. They should know better. :hi:

8. My compassion lacks boundaries.
I have room for discussion and opinion on all of that.

AND, if you don't think that this is "important stuff" then that's cool, too. That's your right.

What else you got?

11. Those are all affronts to human dignity and thus all related.
To imply that some of those issues matter and some do not is to deny that all people deserve thier full measure of human dignity. All are vitally important.
