OUT OF LEFT FIELD

Limbaugh, Hannity Face Armed Forces Radio Loss

***UPDATED***

Handing liberal opponents a sudden victory in their longtime battle over Armed Forces Radio content, Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity may soon be removed from broadcast outlets serving American soldiers stationed around the world.

With last year's addition of liberal talk shows to the Armed Forces Radio and Television Service lineup, how could this happen now?

........

In a highly unexpected development, a radio consulting firm hired by the military has strongly recommended dumping these programs from stations that reach the vast majority of troops and others residing overseas.

Even so, at least Rush won't be able to tell the troops that liberals hate
them anymore. That can only be a good thing.

In this new scenario, ALL political talk shows will be nearly eliminated, including those hosted by liberals Ed Schultz and Al Franken.

16. Sounds like they are gonna start obeying the law
Is it the Hatch Act that prohibits political activism in the military? No serving member of the military can make comments in their capacity as military, wear uniform to political rallies, things like that. I believe it also bans political programming from Armed Forces Radio. How the likes of Rush has been allowed on this long is a mystery. The brass should stand up to the propagandists.

11. liberal talk shows to be dropped also.
With last year's addition of liberal talk shows to the Armed Forces Radio and Television Service lineup, how could this happen now?

Wasn't the previous flap over such programming resolved at that point?

In this new scenario, ALL political talk shows will be nearly eliminated, including those hosted by liberals Ed Schultz and Al Franken.

If Hannity and Limbaugh aren't being singled out for quasi- cancellation, that might seem fair, but the devil is in the details.

And it's a particularly ugly devil: upon closer examination, an astounding picture of anti- conservative bias is clearly revealed. Was it intentional? We don't know.

13. I am tired of these fascist fraud bully cowards. That is what they are.
First came across the Pilodinal Cyst in 1990. 1990! By 1994, thoughtful people recognized the danger to dialogue with disagreement, but not calling your opponents evil, stupid or worse. Breathtaking. What goes around comes around. They are indeed evil and worse, and have spawned hundreds of stupid single-cell imitators throughout the nation.

Amazing what you have to do to get these people to obey the law. They never even considered removing those lying right-wing sacks of shit until liberals started arguing for equal access. Now they're taking their ball and going home. Fine by me.

This is a major defeat for the cons. They thought that their monopoly on brainwashing the troops would last forever. Well, it hasn't, thanks to the likes of Al and Ed. One station at a time, one mind at a time.

23. I agree.
Frankly, I believe the troops should be free from any right or left leaning radioheads.

They need bias-free news of what's happening in the US and globally. They need entertainment (music, comedians etc.). They need important military information. They need the latest tv shows, movies, and every first class laugh they can get.

They do NOT need Rush. And if that means they don't also get Al, then so be it.

to appear to be fair, then to have liberal voices speaking to the troops.

They do more damage than our Liberal stations can fix. I think it would be a trade that would be to our advantage.

26. On the contrary, I think they are doing it precisely because they think
more damage is done by the soldiers being able to hear liberal radio than by removing the Rush and Hannity propaganda. So I think they feel they are better off this way, although worse off than when they had their own propaganda monopolizing the overseas airwaves.

This is the first step in turning around the brain washing that goes on with the US troops.
