The Republicans have declared war on us and our democracy in every
sense of the word. They declared war the day Saint Ronnie became president and there hasn't been a day since on which they haven't tried to damage us and marginalize us. And many of them would like to destroy us in a literal sense.

George W. Bush has done everything in his power to impoverish us, our children and our children's children. And his corporate puppet masters had no problem with stealing a country that belongs to other people, terrorizing it, murdering their citizens, and crushing any American who dared to speak out. And since we haven't taken to the streets regarding the torture of foreigners, who says it won't be us being tortured tomorrow?

Our right to have our votes counted has been stolen from us and someone needs to show me how or why the criminals in charge will return those rights this coming November. And it also seems to me that our right to protest has disappeared somewhere along the line. Up until a few years ago, who ever heard of "a free speech zone," a place where people are penned up out of sight and earshot of those they're protesting.

Some of you may be asking, "If the Republicans are at war with us, where are the bodies?" Given the criminal enterprise that is today's Republican Party, we have now way of knowing if people have actually been murdered for one reason or another. But for starters, give some thought to New Orleans. No one knows the actual body count and all the administration had to do to achieve it was nothing.

But the real indicator of their readiness to kill are their media hatemongers. Poisoning the creme brulle of a supreme court justice isn't a joke. O'Reilly, Limbaugh and Hannity daily fill the empty heads of the fools who follow them with hatred, and rage. Does anyone really doubt that many of their followers wouldn't shoot down a Michael Moore, a Randi Rhodes, a John Murtha, a John Kerry, a Hillary Clinton, an Al Sharpton, a Carol Mosley Braun, or thousands of others with just a little nudge in that direction?

So what do we do about it? How do we fight back? We don't have the media, the corporations, the voting machines, the SCOTUS, the congress, the White House, or the viciousness that so many of these people seem to be born with.

I'm not prepared to endorse the use of violence. But I will ask each and every one of you to fully understand that they have declared war on us, and their goal is to crush us under their jackboots. And every one of us must focus on how we're going to fight back with a "No more Mr. Nice Guy" attitude. And we've got to learn to do what they're so good at: Joining together to fight them in unison rather than spending any more time fighting each other.

2. Really?
I don't remember ever hearing about them until Bush was in office. Can you cite something that discusses free speach zones while Clinton was President?

6. Well yeah, his secret service didn't use them so much as bush has to...
but yeah, they've been around since Nixon, actually... the current form, though, seems to have started under Clinton and been muchly expanded under usurper boy.

There are cites of it all over the place... wikipedia even.

3. Can we stop arguing with each other before this argument goes any further?

5. I never saw any evidence of that.
And I doubt it very much. Concepts like "Free Speech" zones are so Orwellian they HAVE to come from the right wing. The first time I heard of a free speech zone was in NYC when I (and others) gathered to hoot at Bush. We were kept blocks away. Nobody ever tried to keep me away from seeing Clinton.

4. It is quite upsetting when right wingers can attack us 24/7...
but should we dare respond, then we are smeared as being the "bad ones" for standing up to these so called "patriots".

Where are the wealthy Dems who have the capital to buy up media?
