I feel like an official DUer now. I had a post locked. Let me try again in such a way that I won't be accused of being a flame-baiter, because it was not my intention. I was trying to get in my 2 cents.
Not that anyone would notice, but I haven't been around here for the past several weeks. Sometimes I need to take a break and go outside and play in my garden and feel the sun on my face. Then I can come back for a time and wade through the negativity and personal attacks to find those kernels of truth and wisdom and hope that keep me coming back to these boards.
I have not commented about the TruthOut story about Rove's indictment until now, and all I have to say about the many posts criticizing TO is this: I think it's ludicrous when people insist the TO story is false because there has been no corroboration by the corporate-owned MSM. Hel-lo! Since when can we trust what the MSM does or does not report?!
Right now the Bush PR hacks (aka MSM) are going on and on about Haditha. Well, where was the press when The Lancet reported that more than 100,000 people have been killed in Iraq from U.S. air strikes?! At that time the "official" word put it at about 30,000. In other words, the MSM misreports and omits the truth ALL THE TIME, but I don't hear people attacking the press with the personal vengeance I have read here about the TO report. And some have the nerve to say the TO story must be wrong, because it has NOT been reported in the MSM and even have gone so far as to demand apologies and retractions!!!
Come on! Am I the only one who sees how specious the argument is?
One more example: Where was the MSM in 2000 when the election was stolen? Although I hadn't found DU yet, based on Will's historical perspective, this was one of the few places people could come who were trying to know and speak the TRUTH that we couldn't get from the MSM. So, IMO, the argument that the TO story must be wrong because it has not been reported in the corporate-owned press is laughable.
And BTW, I am a definite WilliamPitt groupie. I love you, Will, warts and all. You have the courage of your convictions and speak the truth as you see it and are not afraid to let people in cyberworld know who you are. I applaud you and hope you keep coming back to share your experience, strength, and hope.
