Bush says america wants to win in Iraq so we will not pull out..
What do you think winning means to bush and repubs, military etc.. The first thing that needs to be done is to get rid of Rumsfeld and Cheney

2. "Winning" = Iraq is a client state for global corporatism (neocolonialism)
Edited on Sun Jun-04-06 11:25 AM by TahitiNut
As long as global corporations maintain a stranglehold on Iraq, with permanent military bases and privatization of Iraq's resources and infrastructure, the Bushoilinis couldn't care less how many 'ragheads' die. They regard the situation as a 'good training ground" for the military - creating a blooded elite corps.

3. It's not a damn football game to be won or lost.
But it's definitely lost. Time to grab the football and go home.

4. Bush will not pull out
He is waiting for someone to tell him what to do so he can blame them

His strategy is to let the war go on and ignore the cost and let a Dem get the blame for pulling
out in 2008. His big thing is it is never his fault. That is why Rove and all his crew, will
get up and scream cut and run, when we leave.

He will never get rid of Rumsfeld, Cheney's health issues may force him to leave, but Bush
will never make major changes because then he would be taking responsibility which he will not
do.

6. When I listen to rightwing radio ..
I always hear this stupid argument: The liberals are making us lose because they are speaking against our president and the war. This is the stupidest thing, do they really believe that the Iraqis and Osama are that stupid. They watch television, listen to radio and the internet and they have been listening to rightwing radio for years. They were here before 911 so they know everything about this country they know us better than we know them.

10. wars are not fought on the air
they are fought on the ground, if Osama was all about retribution for our involvement in the
Middle East, the entire US would have been attacked by now. All that was just poppycock,
Osama never rose to defend Iraq or his friends, the Taliban. Didn't they think that was strange. But he sure is around to make tapes when George is at a low point. Strange that
we let him escape in Tora Bora. Oh, but blame the liberals for whatever goes wrong.

13. Yes
Prince Faisal, the Saudi representative to the US, does not see Osama in every hiding space,
he thinks that he is a rogue element whose influence is weakening. We have to move past our fear and back to a normal society, where wars are debated and our liberties are protected.

12. Wow, not my read on the street
There is a strong anti Iraq war sentiment on the street in my area because the population perceives we are losing the damn war, and Americans hate losing wars. But the scary part that defies reasoning is, despite wanting to pull out of Iraq, they are willing to support a new war in Iran. The declining support for the war in Iraq is not a rejection of war, but a rejection of losing wars. Americans are perfectly fond of war as long as they’re winning. Is American odd, or what?

15. What is this War-O-Rama
Behind Door No. 1 - we have a war with drug lords and war lords for turf in Afghanistan,
this is in the slightly used bin since it has been going on since 2001, since the Afghanis
say the current government does not reflect their Islamic values: Letting a Christian
convert escape, allowing drinking of alcohol throughout the country expressly forbidden by
the Koran and the emergence of Houses of Prostitution also expressly forbidden in the Koran
to spring up. The locals are increasingly alienated by their "Western" government which
has modernized Kabul but done very little to help the average person.
Behind Door No. 2 - we have a war based on bad intelligence, no WMD's, no biological weapons,
with only 130,000 troops the Americans are unable to stop secterian strife and deaths
from IED's.
behind Door No. 3 - We have the possibility of war with one of the most oil rich countries
in the world. A country that has strong ties to Russia, China and Venezuela. A country
which has threaten to bomb any country that supports us in this attack.

17. You could have won the war on poverty a long time ago
Edited on Sun Jun-04-06 05:35 PM by MissWaverly
If all our resources had not been sucked into the war machine. We have spent trillions, how
much has been fraudulently siphoned off who really knows. But we can't go on starting wars
which we cannot resolve.
