What do they think as they get ready for bed?
Edited on Sat Jun-03-06 11:33 PM by hopeisaplace
Besides thinking about those suffering from war, I think about
the politicians currently in charge: I wonder what they REALLY
feel, REALLY believe, REALLY want to say, as they sit with a glass of
wine or a cup of tea reviewing their day's events, before they go to bed.

It's a weird thing to think about. But the reason I wonder is to
get a sense about their (in)humanity.

Republican Politicians: I wonder if they REALLY believe the crap
spewed out every day that they 9 times out of 10, support. Do they have
trouble living with themselves, do they worry about their children's future?
Do they have faith in the person sitting to the left and right of them?
Are they actually afraid, afraid of all of it..or maybe they're not...
maybe their mind circles completely around winning the next election,
and only winning the next election. Do they worry about their contribution
to whatever unfolds, do they feel shame in their private moments?

Democratic Politicians: In their quiet moments at the days end,
are they afraid of what's unfolding, what's changed, or do they believe
"that this too shall pass". Do they suffer from guilt, the guilt of essentially
being the powerless. Are they worried about the future for their children.
Are they ashamed of the things they "have to" or "choose to" go along with.
Do they want to run out screaming the cold-hard-truth, or do they believe
the public couldn't handle it. I wonder HOW WORRIED they are??? on a scale
of 1 to 10..is it 1-no worries, or 10-making them ill they're so worried.

The Media: When the individual(s) who decide on the Story, put their head
to their pillows at night, do they believe they have served their country.
Do they believe they HAVE informed people on critical issues, or has it become
irrelevant? While they're pulling the covers over themselves, are they proud
of themselves? Or are they truly worried inside. Are they concerned that things
could be escalating out of control. Meaning, if they do start to really
INFORM, that it could be too little too late.

Sorry if I've caused some TV Exec to come up with a new reality tv show..it would
never fly, or would it? "The West Wing Live" or "The Day in the Life of EVERY
Politician".

I know the sarcasm is coming (which I love), but I really do wonder about the
(in)humanity of it all.

edit: typo

1. I believe the reason Limbaugh takes Oxycontin is he can't sleep
at night.

As for Bush, sociopaths don't experience remorse--and Condi, Rumsfeld, Cheney and the like are all sociopaths.

6. do you really think so? no humanity whatsoever
I don't want to think there isn't a shred of humanity in these
people, ..oh wait, Katrina was one of the most inhuman things I've
ever witnessed live and unfolding - maybe your right, gawd I hope not.

note: by humanity, I mean the courage to do what's decent, to feel.
