b*s* is NOT my president.

I just had two friends at work insist that, because I am an American citizen, b*s* is my president, despite my objections.

Now, these are good guys. They hate b*s*, and support quite a bit of the things I do. That said, they tend to the more conservative side (one of them is the "both extremes are wrong, and celebrities like Sean Penn should shut up" type), and don't quite get the Big Picture. For example, when asked where they would retire if money would never again be a problem, they both replied...the United States (and the aforementioned 'extremes' friend believes the U.S. is a better place to live than any other country).

I shouldn't have been pissed, but I was, and still sort of find myself angry. Are they right? I mean, technically I am a citizen (working on Canada - sent off 7 resumes to the Vancouver area this morning), but I consider (and evidence supports the contention) that b*s* two terms are both illegitimate (a sentiment officially endorsed, at least with regards to the 2000 election, by this very website).

Thus, he's not my president. And now I intend to get a bumper sticker to that effect.

What have you done when faced with this kind of maddening commentary?

1. I have repeated over and over again that he is not my president. Aside

from the fact that he wasn't actually elected, he does not represent me or anything that I believe to good and right and just.

Of course, the bat-shit crazy junior supporters think I'm a nut-case.

I cannot go and hear shrub speak in person because I have a "veterans against the war" bumper sticker on my car. What kind of pResident is that? A chickenshit one, if you ask me.

and that i left when i saw it coming when clinton did what soon we'll call a "blair",
