Do you want records kept of every website you visit?
Me neither.

But Bush's Justice Dept. wants your ISP to have to record every website you visit and everyone you email.

From
http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20060601/ts_nm/security_internet_usa_dc

A Justice Department spokesman "This meeting was an initialdiscussion for the Attorney General to gather information and to solicit input from Internet service provider executives on the issues associated with data retention," said spokesman Brian Roehrkasse.

...If Congress is going to be asked to pass legislation ordering Internet providers to retain data they won't be asked for content of that data but
rather addresses e-mails were sent and sites they visited, Roehrkasse said.

It would be one thing if they were just asking for IP
addresses which someone logs in under to be saved for
two years.

Requiring ISPs to record every website we visit and
everyone we email is something else: a gross violation
of our privacy.

10. In a democracy, citizens are well-informed about the govt,
and citizens have privacy.

Since Bush stole his office, the trend has been the government gathering more and more data on us, while keeping us increasinlgy in the dark about what they're doing.

Conservatives believe in the opposite of democracy.

5. Sure, I want them to see the hundreds of times I go to sites that are
totally anti-Bush! I want them to see the thousands of on-line letters and petitions I've signed in my humble attempts to bring them to justice. Just like I clearly end every phone conversation I have with my friends and family by calling Bush&co. fascists and wishing them dead!

6. And when you become an inconvenient opponent,
they will pull you aside, show you records of some of the juicier websites you have visited, and suggest that you might want to keep quit about your politics for the sake of your family

8. well if they have these records
Whats to saying they cant alter them to say you visited child porn websites frequently.

How to kill a persons credibility 101, allege child pornography was found on their computer.

9. "Well If You Haven't Got Anything To Hide"
and you are a good Republican, fundie Christian, and attend Church 3 times a week, vote for Republicans, and meet any other standards, then you have NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT

unless of course, you cross the beast

then you might run the risk of being discredited in the way you describe.

I have a feeling that the beast is flexing his muscles more and more every day.

11. It's another big lie, they want to steal another election
They say it's about monitoring for terrorists, but that's a bogus lie. This is about monitoring democratic grassroots activity. Plans are made on the phone, plans are made online. This is about monitoring Democrats, as if Dems are terrorists. To them, we are the enemy.
