Larisa Alexandrovna: OH Recount Volunteers Allege Legal Violations
Edited on Fri Jun-02-06 07:53 AM by kpete
DEMAND AN FBI INVESTIGATION!!!

Ohio recount volunteers allege electoral tampering, legal violations and possible fraud

Larisa Alexandrovna
Published: Thursday June 1, 2006

Serious new election tampering allegations have emerged from an Ohio county, where witnesses allege that stickers were placed on presidential election ballots, RAW STORY has learned.

Several volunteer workers in the Ohio recount in Clermont County, Ohio have prepared affidavits alleging serious tampering, violations of state and federal law and possible fraud. They name the Republican chief of Clermont’s Board of Elections Daniel Bare and the head of the Clermont Democratic Party Priscilla O’Donnell as complicit in these acts.

These volunteers, observing the recount on behalf of the Greens, Libertarians and Democrats, assert that during the Dec. 14, 2004 hand recount they noticed stickers covering the Kerry/Edwards oval, whereas the Bush/Cheney oval seemed to be “colored in.”

Some witnesses state that beneath the stickers, the Kerry/Edwards oval was selected. The opti-scan ballots were then fed into the machines after the hand recount.

1. The elves told us that something was way wrong with the Ohio vote.
Way wrong.

While we're several steps away from incontrovertible evidence demonstrating felony election fraud and that Ohio went for Kerry-Edwards, the level of doubt about Bush/Rove/Blackwell's operations in Ohio has been on the rise for some time now, and is really beginning to pick up steam this week.

God bless Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., just for starters, and also let's see where this new information leads, kpete. Thanks for posting it.

2. K&R
For Larisa and the last piece of the puzzle. Sure, we here knew it was the first and most important part of the puzzle, but it's nice to see it aired out in the harsh light of day.

Somewhere in the back of my mind I knew that election fraud wouldn't be looked at until last. Everyone was in a 9/11 coma for so long. I knew that until the public woke up and looked around and asked "How did we get here?" no one was going to pay attention to "What if Ohio was stolen?".

Here's to the citizens, reporters and statisticians! :toast:

7. I saw that.
Maybe this will bring more attention to the issue, though.

Here's the title on the front page: "... Raw first found Ohio ballot tampering;"

11. John Conyers
Sent a letter to the FBI demanding an investigation. He met with all of the sources and whistleblowers. I sent the FBI the recording and my notes (minus anon sourcing). To date, there has been no investigation.

Here is the letter from Conyers to the feds:

15. RFK mentions this...
in his RS thesis. I think RawStory (LaLa) decided they needed to remind people who broke the story... and rightly so. What about an update on these players in particular? Were those affidavits ever handed in? That's what i want to know... where's the follow-up?

16. No, I wanted to use this moment and support for his article
to get people to call the FBI and force them to investigate because I have been trying since January. the feds have the affidavits, plus the folks who did not wish to be named in the article but were willing to speak to them - their names. the follow up is that there is nothing, crickets. that is why i wanted to use this momentum to try to get them to do a real investigation. they say they have done one and found no wrong doing, but they did not speak to any of the whistle blowers or to me, so I find it hard to believe they did any sort of real investigation. you want a follow up? i do too, that is why we need to get everyone calling the FBI and demanding an investigation.

8. Don't know what to make of this
From the atmosphere surrounding this incident, I'd say there was a lot of tension. Some people are obviously very afraid to openly speak up.

If it were me, I'd be screaming it from the rooftops.

14. It would be nice if the FBI could...
...somehow see their way clear to break away from digging up horsey farms in search of Hoffa's remains, and actually find some time to investigate, as Jim Lampley so rightly called it, "the biggest crime in the history of the nation."

21. Wouldn't it be nice?
If the fat cats camped at DNC, at their plush desks, on the plush carpets, in their plush offices, would pick up the phone and call the FBI and DEMAND the investigation move forward?

Imo, the party has failed to do what it is supposed to do: Make sure the votes get counted correctly, and that everybody gets to vote.

It is not the candidates' fault that millions of dollars went down the black box hole, their job is to get people to cast a vote for them. It IS the party's responsibility to see that our votes are counted, correctly.

23. You're damn right it would be nice if the DNC
demands an explanation! Their failure to raise a stink when it first became obvous something was wrong in Ohio is hurting us RIGHT NOW! The BushBots are using the Democrats' silence as one of their main talking points to "prove" the election was honest, and it's an argument we can't refute because *WE* don't understand it either!

The Democratic so-called "leadership" owes the rank-and-file an explanatiion--AND an apology! They let us down, just like the corporate media.

38. It all means nothing if nothing is done to prevent it from happening again
"During the Dec.16 public meeting, they say, Bare stated that he would provide all of the necessary documentation requested, including poll books, uncounted provisional ballots, uncounted absentee ballots, and service records for the machines–all of which have yet to be provided. According to the volunteers, repeated attempts to get these documents were rebuffed and have to this day not been submitted"

I thought I read just recently that all materials relating to the election in Ohio, ballots, etc. were going to be destroyed at some deadline in the near future. No evidence, no case. Who is going to prevent that from happening?

My new law - all voting activities are to be conducted in rooms with multiple monitoring and recording devices that have back-up battery systems in case of power failure along with audio equipment. Our elections need to be monitored.
