The new Bush Administration energy bill is absolutely and utterly atrocious, even by the already abysmal standards of this Administration:
http://www.csmonitor.com/2006/0531/p02s01-uspo.html?s=t5So now, at a time of rapidly rising energy prices and heavy dependence of the US on foreign oil-- let alone global warming and catastrophic (for us especially) environmental changes-- the Bushies want to cut conservation and energy efficiency measures?
It's only because of these measures that we haven't bankrupted ourselves from oil costs already, and now with oil rising, it's more important than ever to use fossil fuel efficiency measures. Yet Bush, penny-wise and pound-foolish as always, wants to cut all of this, while hoping we don't notice. This is, of course, nothing more than a thinly veiled, massive government (and government-forced consumer) subsidy to the Big Oil companies, whose already outrageously high profits would shoot up even higher. This must stop! Call your representatives in Congress, write letters to the editor, and get them stop this outrageous Bush energy bill!
