Cavuto: Why is media focusing on Haditha not attacks on troops?
Edited on Fri Jun-02-06 12:28 AM by NormaR
Umm....because troops are there by choice. And they have weapons. And civilians are not and do not.

WES CLARK: The troops don't get the support of this Administration.

CAVUTO: General! They don't get the support of the news media!

WES: I'm troubled by how badly things are going.

CAVUTO: Murtha says get out now! How do answer that!

WES: I don't think that.

CAVUTO: I know you don't. But what about Murtha! Murtha!

WES: Only so long we can stay there if our troops aren't getting traction.

Cavuto has this country being the victim. Well, it is Faux/Bushco news. No reality...24 hours a day.

4. I wouldn't even say many are there by choice
I doubt my buddy heading over there wants to. But he can't get out of a commitment he made well before the invasion was launched.

The war itself was one of choice. Going into Iraq was definetely a choice - and a bad choice made by bad people.

Cavuto isn't very bright (in fact he's one of the stupidest "news" show hosts I've seen on TV - rivaling the likes of Hannity and O'Reilly. As for Haditha and why it's receiving coverage - it's a freakin' war crime - a massacre of civilians. In a war where we claim to have the higher moral ground against insurgents and suicide bombers, killing civilians (including women and children) doesn't help make that case.

Cavuto obviously doesn't understand that "liberating" people by killing them doesn't work all that well.

6. Republican arguments have reached the point of absurd lately.
They've stretched the hypocrisy out like salt water taffy and it won't go any further.

The media *has* been covering the attacks on U.S. soldiers.

Of course Republican pundits and their breed get agitated over this because the media is "focusing on the negative".

In Cavuto's straight-jacket world the coverage would look like this:

Good news from Iraq today: 99.9% of civilians in Haditha WERE NOT massacred today.

More good news: 99.9% of U.S. soldiers WERE NOT killed or dismembered by roadside bombs. Safer than Liberal Washington D.C. (har har)

The Republican spin cycle is looking more like it's set on "self-destruct" every day.

:silly:
