3. Already done in Missouri
Spoke with my State Representative yesterday (North St. Louis County) regarding our new and very silly Driver's License Renewal procedures and he brought up the Missouri Voter I.D. issue, describing how his elderly relative without a birth certificate will be unable to vote at the polls because they cannot get a voter I.D. without one. So they will simply vote by absentee ballot which requires no I.D. and save the hassle of going to the polls. He told me of a proposal to soften the blow that would have had several mobile units go about the state providing the I.D.'s to those unable to go get them, of course this proposal was never funded so the point of it was moot.

Yup, it's a poll tax to be sure.

7. Welcome to DU, Sherman A1, and this needs to stop! Are you
sure there's no pre-registration requirements even to vote absentee? I wouldn't put it past them...

4. K&R. Cafferty says there are "things here and there creeping into
our system" that keep voters repressed.

I wonder if he's read Kennedy's piece in Rolling Stone yet? I wonder if he realizes that things have been "creeping" for at least 7 years?

"Cafferty: Don't kid yourself. This stuff isn't happening accidentally. These are calculated moves by people in power to corrupt the system in such a way that they are able to remain in power."

10. I really, really wish Cafferty and Wolf would switch places.
CNN keeps the wee Cafferty segments to hang on to the last vestiges of their audience, while still serving the bloody wishes of their hydra-headed beast-masters. I'm only slightly exaggerating here.

I admit to rarely tuning in anymore, but rely on posts such as yours to hear-tell of the mighty Mr. C. :-) So thanks!

9. I have quite a few elderly on my block, should it come to it
I will drive them there myself to and from so they register to vote. Anyone else who needs a ride. We should start a neighborhood ride list or at least make people aware of it. Otherwise they will do what Kenneth blackwell did, change the paper weight at the last min.

We all know the republicans are now terrified by "illegals" and anyone of latino decent hence why they feel they should do this.

So they'll discriminate against not only blacks but latinos now too.

11. They can discriminate against potentially everybody who's not
privy to the 'new rules'. It's disheartening. I hope newfound awareness makes a difference.
