granted, the tickets were sold before the clearchannel boycott, but despite effort by the freeps to get mass boos going or mike gallagher's 'trade-in-youy Dixie Chicks tickets for the imitation Marshall Tucker Band" campaign, no effect couyld be seen in the crowd size
they'll do just fine when they tour again-in fact, given the swing against chimpy-i expect them to do better

To think back to when this first happened and remembering the comments such as "Well, they just threw their careers away" and "They just lost their whole fan base", and now to watch them rocking the charts and becoming more popular in the mainstream without support of the country music establishment is fucking hilarious.

They sold 520,000 plus units of their new CD in the first week of sales and Toby Keith sold 360,000 or so...LOL, The Chicks put a boot in his ass I would say. The women have already sold out at their first London concert and they added a second show.

The freepers are getting so fired up because they think they own anything that mentions "country music" and now the Dixie Chicks have stepped out of their forum and are more popular than before because their patriotism for speaking their minds and not caving to the conservative threats of retaliation are more important to people than being a knuckle dragging moron.

In the freeper's mind the Dixie Chicks are nothing more than loud mouth broads who should just sing love song, look pretty and have babies. Now the women spoke up, stuck to their guns and basically told their "redneck" fan-base to shove it up their pseudo-American ass if they don't support freedom of speech.

Good for them. I'm not a huge Dixie Chicks fan, but I think they are great at what they do. I never disliked them, put it that way. But to watch heads exploding over this is one of the funniest things to me so far this year. I'm getting a kick out of watching people who once thought they were mainstream being reduced to blabbering idiots that no one is taking serious anymore.

anti-Chicks fever in the early days of the war, when *'s approval was much higher than it is today. The funniest thing I recall was the camera shot of the 5 or 6 protestors standing around with their pathetic signs, and they were about 5% mocked and 95% ignored!
