Today, a Baghdad court heard of Saddam's massacres (GRAPHIC WARNING!!)
Today, US Marine Corps CID is concluding an investigation into the alleged massacres at Haditha by US Marines. Wrap that bloody irony around your head.

Note: Re-post of thread from last night that was justifiably killed for lack of GRAPHIC WARNING. Well, the squeamish have been warned.

Never forget: My Lai-4, March 16, 1968.

6. My rage and frustration at what this administration has wrought
grows every day.

We are now much worse than Saddam; at least he confined his tyrannical bloodlust to his own country.

DT, I think the America we fought to defend--like Vietnam was anymore about defending America than Iraq--is gone.

GOD-FUCKING-DAMN THESE WAR-MONGERING MOTHERFUCKING PIECES OF SHIT!!! FUCK!!!

7. There was a degree of naivety during Vietnam, that is gone today.
It was lost in jungles, we were supposed to have learned the lessons never to let it happen again. Wasn't WWI the war to end all wars. The deserts of Iraq promise to be worse, there is no end in sight.

8. An electrician doing some work for me, also a Viet Nam vet ..
He just left. We stood in my kitchen talking about this very subject for two solid hours. Our "Lessons Learned" discussion ranged from Dien Bien Phu to My Lai-4 and beyond. He and I also discussed Iraq. Tomorrow I'll show him this thread. We both think, like you, that The deserts of Iraq promise to be worse, there is no end in sight. Well said, and so true.

9. Everyone should have seen it coming.
After Vietnam the Army started training for desert warfare. The Vietnam Vets in the Pentagon should have spoken up.
