How can the various movements that are part of the Democratic Party, contribute and add vibrant and diverse views, and strengthen the party by making it deal with practical concerns that effect everyone in a way that does not treat others unfairly, in a way that does not neglect the injustices that effect minorities... without becoming selfish and destructive?
The sort of compromise that says to ignore a signficiant injustice or that overlooks real harm that is occurring, is not the sort of compromise that conveys integrity.
But the sort of compromise that seeks to reach out to be relevant to others, in not just issues solidarity but a broader solidarity with struggling people in America who all wish a consistent system based in legal fairness, and civil and human rights... that kind of compromise can reach poor and middle class people who otherwise may be alienated by narrower movements and more extreme responses to issues.
