Snow: "The President is not afraid of people who disagree with him..."
"But he wants people who are loyal and who will carry out his policies."

Just spoken three seconds ago in the press conference. Does that statement make any fucking sense?

1. That's certainly not true, but regardless..
Maybe we need to ramp up the opposition. He should be afraid.

"The President is not AWARE of people who disagree with him, because he's so insulated from reality ... "

before telling them what to think and what to do. At which point they turn into good robots.

5. He's not afraid of them; he sees them as meaningless
He's an ideologue as are his colleagues. The the ideologue people who disagree with the "truth" as you see it are either stupid, crazy or immoral. Of course Bush isn't afraid of people who disagree with them; in a very real sense, they just don't matter.

12. Well said.
If anyone I personally know brings up what Snow said - I doubt it only because Snow's so insignificant what he says doesn't matter and hasn't for many months - I'll quote from what you said. Hard to be afraid of a non-entity. Says a lot about how this administration runs.

Of us - you don't bother to spy on people you don't think relevant. The whole point of stealing the second election was to prevent his immanent incarceration.

Edited on Tue May-30-06 11:52 AM by sparosnare
The President appoints people who are loyal and who will carry out his policies, but that doesn't mean he's scared of everybody else.

Because someone might ask - just what is Bush afraid of?

26. Don't believe anything until it's officially denied
Let's deconstruct, when Snow-thing says that Chimpy McFlightsuit isn't afraid of people who disagree with him, he is actually saying that he is afraid of people who disagree with him and in fact does a bed time closet check for them, so he can sleep. Which was implied with "...he wants people who are loyal and will carry out his policies." Or, it can be that he isn't afraid of them because he refuses to believe that they exist.

42. Yes, it makes perfect sense
As a manager you want people who will carry out your policies even if they disagree with them.

As an employee, if you disagree enough, you usually get tired of the BS and go find another job.

Everybody knows of a manager who only wants 'yes' people working for them, but those same managers will tell you they are open-minded. I think Bush is the same way. He claims to be open-minded but only wants 'yes' people working for him.
