CBS News Crew attacked.
Edited on Mon May-29-06 10:32 AM by Maestro

Oh yes, this Memorial Day, let's remember all those that have fallen including the few media people there trying to tell the truth. CBS News has been the closest in trying to expose the truth. Granted there haven been missteps but for the MSM, CBS is leaps and bounds above the rest in my opinion. I hope the Ms. Dozier makes it through alright. Peace be with the killed cameraman and soundman.

3. I just heard this, before B* started speaking, and I turned of the TV..
This is a good post, and most appropriate to remember the media who have sacrificed their lives for this ignoble, immoral war, too.

5. I saw CNN reporting on the
CBS reporter, Dozier. She is very good and hope she recovers. It is all beginning to come home to a lot of people that when our president rolled into Iraq "to spread democracy" the very gates of Hell were opened and may never be closed. Our country will continue to pay for our leader's immense ego.

9. Wait til people realize the truth that our 'decider's' intent was never
the noble goal of "spreading democracy" but rather spreading the dough into the pockets of his cronies that are profitting from this war.

4. Dozier's credentials here
She was born on July 6, 1966, in Honolulu, Hawaii. Dozier was graduated magna cum laude from Wellesley College in 1987 with a bachelor's degree in human rights and Spanish and from the University of Virginia in 1993 with a master's degree in foreign affairs, Middle East. She lives in Jerusalem.

Sounds like Ms. Dozier has a much firmer grasp on the affairs of the Middle East than say, ummm, Karen "Queen Bitch" Hughes or Armcandileeza "Menage-a-Trois are such gay times with my husband and his wife" Rice. But what the hell do I know. (I do know that Rice was a piss poor Russian "linguist" but that's a story for another time).

6. Armcandileezza Rice, Cunning Linguist...
Meanwhile, decent journalists are getting killed. The last update said Dozhier's out of surgery, in critical comdition, and doctors are "cautiously optimistic" -- which ain't exactly good news.

Funny how IEDs targeted a dissident Iranian group and one of the reporters who seemed to bethe target of the right wing's wrath over "not reporting the good news from Iraq" one the very same day...

7. Now that you mention it, I do remember
seeing her do most of the CBS reporting in Jerusalem. Makes sense since she lives there. I do hope she will be alright. A B.S. in Human Rights and Spanish, she's after my own heart.

14. Those IED's are nasty and unless you wearing
full body armor the shrapnel is going to get you. I only hope that whatever happened to her can be surgically repaired with minimal recovery but I seriously doubt it.

13. Just another example of the press
hiding behind the security of the Green Zone and failing to get out and report all of the GOOD NEWS that is happening all over Iraq.

All of that GOOD NEWS is out there I tell ya...somewhere.

That's the liberal press for you, going and getting themselves blown up just to make Bush look bad. Tsk, tsk.

15. Didn't Rush, Hannity, and Coulter risk this kind of fate with all their
reporting outside the Green Zone?

Oh, never mind.

16. Rush wouldn't last two hours doing
what the troops and embedded journalist are doing. Mann Coulter would be discovered as actually being a man and Hannity, well, he is just a baby!

17. Oh shit.. Kimberly Dozier..
Edited on Mon May-29-06 04:06 PM by girl gone mad
She's a very good reporter. I always worry about her and Lara Logan, as both frequently report from the heart of the action in Iraq and Afghanistan. I'm sure these women and their crew members all have targets on their heads. I've appreciated their genuinely balanced reporting over the past two years. Ms. Dozier and her companions have shown more courage every minute they've been in Iraq than Bush and Cheney have shown in their entire lifetimes combined.

19. So how many Fox news reporters are actually in Iraq?
We hear about other news organizations there but I have heard next to nothing about Fox being on the ground, reporting all the good news that they insist everyone else is missing....

20. I'm beginning to think that we need to demand a
seperate holiday for these Brave Media people trying to get the TRUTH OUT to all of us

A MEDIA MEMORIAL DAY for the fallen in the line of duty, what they do takes GUTS and should be memorialized, camera or gun, it should make no difference..

Not talking about INBEDDED Media, and of course FOX is not to be included under any circumstances...
