Boeing lags Airbus on 2005 deliveries

LONG BEACH — For the third straight year, the Boeing Co. has finished behind its bitter rival Airbus for total annual commercial airplanes delivered.

In reports released Tuesday, Boeing said it delivered 73 commercial planes during the fourth quarter, bringing 2005 totals to 290.

The total is an increase for Boeing, but the company still fell behind Airbus in the battle for title as the world's leading plane maker. Airbus had 271 plane deliveries as of Sept. 30 and in November said it was on pace for 370 by the end of the year.

4. Funny how workers with more vacation, shorter hours, & better health care
... kick the asses of companies where the CEOs collect 400 times the compensation as the average employee, huh? Perhaps Boeing should off-shore its management and get better business operational skills for far more reasonable compensation.
