GRASSLEY: In the past few decades, certain interest groups and legal scholars and even some members of Congress have tried to convert the Supreme Court from a legal institution into political, social and cultural ones.

Because of this, the court has morphed in that direction, I believe, becoming a battlefield for warring interests groups who are raising and spending millions of dollars on disinformation campaigns and Web site blogs. There are even blogs going on all the time about this hearing. (Now we wouldn't do a thing like that, now would we?)

1. Grassley--The Farmer

How that farmer ever got on the judiciary committee, I'll never know. He hates the federal judiciary and the feelings are mutual. He was instrumental in pushing the horrible bankruptcy bill through Congress, championing the bill for almost 5 years to insure the crucifixion of impoverished people and to enrich the already flush banks and credit cards companies.
