Judge: Hinckley can visit parents at home
Good behavior could earn Reagan attacker more privileges

John Hinckley Jr. will be allowed to visit his parents at their home.

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The man who shot President Reagan in 1981 -- and who has been in a Washington mental hospital since being found not guilty by reason of insanity -- can start getting out a little more.

U.S. District Judge Paul Friedman relaxed the conditions for John Hinckley Jr. on Friday, saying he would be allowed three visits of three nights each to his parents' home in Williamsburg, Virginia.

6. Sorry, didn't mean to be unpleasant, but supervised visits are just that,
supervised visits. I see no harm to society as long as thay are supervised, and I mean supervised....The guy's mentally ill. He has a history of violence. He's very well known. I doubt any supervising authority would let this one slip, if that's the concern.

7. I agree...
This man was obviously quite ill, if he is stable, taking his medications, and under supervision, I have no problem with it.

8. they forced the jury to find him not guilty
because of insanity...and the newsmedia never mentioned that....it was win win for the fascists...reagan became a martyr, the justice system looked stupid giving an agent of the bush family a pass (prison is much worse then hospital) and truly mental offenders thus suffer as a result, and reagan was back good as new within a few weeks, though he must have known he easily be killed or 'jim brady'd'.....the jury majority tried to find hinckley guilty of attempted murder, but something happened there (in an interview after the verdict, the cbc had on one of the jurors, who was crying and saying that no matter how long they went, one juror held out for insanity, and the government harassed the jury until they went along....how this stoty escape notice defies belief, but it did TO THIS DAY!)
hinckley certainly a fool, but he shoulda been in prison

I thought Hinckley was going to meet Mark David Chapman. Were it the case, that headline would still work.

-on edit-

Ooops. I'm mistaken.
