The Dubya Code
Last night I surfed through no less than 6 documentary type shows hyping "The Da Vinci Code", the movie. Over a thousand years of mystery, intrigue, secrets, rumors, hysteria, and murder all pretty much based on the sheerest of fluff and dogma, all leading to nowhere.

It reminds me of the invisible force that somehow got Bush and his punks to where they are today. All based on ancient mythology, secrets, intrigue, rumors, hysteria and murder, only in modern times. There's no logic to it, no reason, so randomly incoherent, it's like a bizarre cult.

And it seems like so many things are connected to the so called "Da Vinci Code", the Masonic order, the imagined or real super secret cult of world leaders, conniving to conquer the globe. On the surface it seems like fiction, but it's happening right in front of our glazed over eyes.

1. I was also watching and thinking similarly and was also........
.....wondering what will wake people up to the fact that Bush and his cohorts have taken two-hundred years of a great experiment (this society of ours) and totally ruined it in just six short years. Between Cheney and Rove I think we have the most evil of all creatures in this one administration. I am convinced that all neocons/fundies are nothing but an updated version of the Crusades and that something major will be needed to turn this all around.

2. I read the Da Vinci Code.
It was interesting to hear about the part of the Catholic church I was unaware of-Opus Dia. I think that's how it is spelled. What I enjoyed the most was that Da Vinci seemed to appreciate women as equals. But I'm not sure what events the Masonic order is involved in. Let me know what you are thinking with your comment. "On the surface it seems like fiction, but it's happening right in front of our glazed over eyes." Thanks.

3. Many of the founding fathers were masons.
The Bohemian Society, the Skull and Bones, secret sects and secret codes, it's all bull, and all a waste of time, but it's real. There really is a globe conquering cabal.

4. It's fiction people
It's not based on fact at all. It's a good read, I had fun reading it and enjoyed the hell out of it. But I give it about as much credence as Ray Bradbury's Martian Chronicles. The alleged plot to cover up the real facts only concern the Western European Church AKA The Roman Catholic Church. The Eastern Orthodox church was left out, so were the other traditions that did not participate in the Nicene Council. Christians were persecuted in the Roman Empire and many of them sought refuge outside the Empire. It's very Euro centric ...

More fascinating is the persecution of the Monophysite Christians during the Crusades, read up on that for a real conspiracy perpetrated by the Catholic Church.

People should be more concerned about another work of fiction with the Left Behind series. The story told there is much more sinister than anything out there as Evangelicals actually believe that we are in the dreaded End Times and act accordingly. In other words, the War in Iraq is part of the prophecy and everyone should be happy that Jesus is coming real, real soon.

As for Dubya, I would think that his father spilled the beans with his "New World Order" statement a decade and a half ago. That unfortunately is not fiction...

5. I may have misunderstood the OP but I think what the writer was...........

....saying is that even though the De Vinci Code is fiction some of it's claims mirror what is happening in the world today. At least that's what I got from it. In that world rule by a select few are the "Crusades", "Masons", and of course the "New World Order".

We all know the election of 2000 was stolen but the question still remains "why it was stolen", what group stole the election, how did they get away with it, and what has been their payoff/gain since then? These are questions that run through my mind all the time and cannot be answered with the simple neocon/fundie label.

edited for spelling
