Don't worry, DU we're coming...
Since July 1997, the Hermione-La Fayette Association has been engaged in an exciting adventure - reconstructing the Hermione frigate, the ship that, in 1780, carried La Fayette to join the American insurgents in their fight for independence.

http://www.hermione.com/anglais/index_va.htm

"If the reconstruction of an 18th century sailing vessel is part of the quest for the town's identity, it's aim is also to give France a testimony from its naval past, while at the same time act as a symbol of Franco-American fraternity through a ship that has linked its name with that of a man - La Fayette, himself a symbol of French support to the American revolution."

the ship is bound to sail to Boston in 2007

2. Tell them to bring plenty of cannons...
we're going to need all the help we can get, just like we did during the Revolution.

Serously, I want to go to Boston to see that boat when it's done. Also to take my son on Old Ironsides...I remember going onto it as a kid, and it was cool.

8. Been there; done that. It's hard work, but worth it.
Went to Europe and back on this baby ("the white bitch") in the summer of '62.
