3. I'm in a Reach Thru the TV and Smack some Aholes mood
IF the issue is going to be that hairs will be split because of a technology definition (ie, it's not really "wiretapping"), then we need to drag this back in, and define that "data-mining" through phone lines or other internet technologies on Americans is a crime.

2. How is this news? It's MEESE for chrissake...
does no one remember the '80s? I was knee-high to a cricket back then, and even I remember this porn-obsessive pseudo-Jesus freak. The man's a raving human sacrifice.

7. I'm 27. In any case, Meese's big contribution as AG...
was "The Meese Report," an exhaustive account of the perfectly legal porn industry, right down to every salacious detail. The press ate it up like Ken Starr's Lewinsky report. Lord knows what actually illegal activities were passing by unnoticed while Meese typed this thing up one-handed.

5. I'm with you
we decry how forgetful some people are in this country yet so many of us forget what a gang of freaks the Reagan administration was. No difference at all between him and Ashcroft (except that Ashcroft can almost carry a tune).
