Russia to bid on Vietnam nuclear power plants

Russia is planning to bid on a tender for construction of a nuclear power plant in Vietnam, the state-run company that builds the facilities overseas said Thursday.

Atomstroiexport, whose delegation is attending a four-day international nuclear energy exhibition in Hanoi, said it will bid for the construction of Vietnam’s first nuclear plant, scheduled between 2015-20.

"Should a tender be announced, Atomstroiexport will have good chance of winning it," the company press service said, adding that "Russian experts have extensive experience in building nuclear power plants overseas."

"Atomstroiexport is ready to implement the entire project on a turnkey basis as well as to organize training for Vietnamese personnel," the company press service quoted the first vice president Alexander Glukhov as saying.
