Further evidence of the Liberal Media in action
From the front page of today's Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, above the fold. The Post-Gazette is derided by its local critics as being as shamelessly "Liberal" as CNN (make of that what you will...)

Analysis: GOP results bode poorly for November vote

Obviously, the article addresses Tuesday's primary elections, in which the results are apparently "evidence of disaffection among core Republican voters."

That's peachy, and frankly nothing could make me happier. But the headline sells it as though the possibility of the GOP losing its foothold in PA this November would be self-evidently bad. With apologies to Barnes and O'Toole, a more objective headline might have read something like:

Primary Results Hint at Change in November

That would leave the theme of the article intact but would spare the reader the heavy-handed "we're better off under the GOP" vibe that currently oozes from the page.

1. A Clear Presumption their readers support the GOP.
And that is a masterful rephrasing; if only you could consult for those sorts of journalist--or better yet, be an editor over them!

It really is absurd to call such writing examples of "liberal" bias--it scarcely even hints of "centrist" bias, leaning like the Tower of Pisa to the Right. Indeed, it's as though Republicans can look at something like simple addition (2+2=4, 5+1=6, etc) and conclude that it's suffering from "Liberal Bias" because it didn't come out different (2+2=9, 5+1=11). They can't make simple judgements... Another simple math example: to them the 7 is less than or equal to 2, 8<=3, 9<=4... See the pattern? They're off by five (|5|). As in, their perceptions are shifted. The Question, is... is it something they're aware of--is it intentional? Is it just a big game they're playing? Or worse, do they actually think that way? Either way, it's just a giant load of crap and needs to be rebutted at every turn--but until we breakup the Mega-Media Monopoly (Oligopoly), we don't have sufficient access to the MSM to even have our rebuttals be heard.

This country needs Honesty now, more than ever, more than anything.
