Big deal? Here's what you do: Every gay couple that wants to get married, easy, one decides to get a sex change operation! Then, what can they say??? You got 'em right there!

Just call me Mr. Archie Bunker Democrat.

(assuming, of course, one weren't born such)

10. Sex changes are not just going to DMV and updating the gender bubble
Sex changes are not just going to DMV and updating the gender bubble. You have to live for a year as the other gender. You have to go through extensive therapy. You have to get a physician to agree to the surgery (and in most cases pay outta pocket) and a physchologist to sign off on the surgery.

Anyway, the original poster is just being funny but he has a point.

I met a woman married to another woman. The trick was that the first woman was a man, then had a sex change and is now a woman, still married to her wife but she will tell you till she is blue in the face "I am not a lesbian!".

So if you heteros want to break the law how about this: You go get a sex change and stay married to your partner then petition the state to reverse their law because you are breaking it and don't want to be a criminal--c'mon fight the good fight for your homosexual friends!

2. I think everyone should be REQUIRED to get married,
at least once.

Just to shut everyone else up.

Everyone should be required to carry a handgun, too, in a holster right in the middle of their chest. Everyone.

And cigarette smoking should be taught in public and private schools, starting in fifth grade. It'll calm the kids down and eliminate the need for all those drugs like Ritalin.

Meat rules.

3. That's a slam on all the people who are conflicted with their gender.
I will keep my anatomical parts in place and fight the good fight. My nearly 10 year relationship with my same-sex partner has outlasted all 5 of my sibling's marriages.

Remind me how this proposed amendment is protecting the sanctity of marriage?

6. See, the problem is that term "sanctity"

We in the US are maybe not unique but at least unusual in the degree to which we scramble the religious ceremony/sacrament of marriage with the civil matter of marriage. All that's needed really is to pull those two apart - religious marriage and civil unions. Nothin' to it! LOL!

4. Here in Texas the Taliibornagain passed an Amendment to the Constitution
it said that " Marriage is between one man and one woman. The state of Texas will not recognize anything the same or similar to marriage".

There are two problems with that:
1) Which man and woman are allowed to be married?
2) Since the state of Texas does not recognize marriage does that make everyone in Texas bastards?

premise that Christ coulda been married when according to Hebraic tradition it was required by age 18. Go figure.

It's totally nuts. IMHO

Gender bending and sex changes aside of course.

12. No one has ever asked this question about gay marriage
And I guarantee these four words will end the argument once and for all:

Yeah? And so what?

From now on, every time some repuke nutjob or fundie nutcase brings up the gay marriage debate, saying that gay marriage is a sin/abomination/whatever, ask this question.
