Pat Robertson: God Says Tsunami Possible For U.S.
Robertson: God Says Tsunami Possible For U.S.

POSTED: 9:19 pm EDT May 17, 2006

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. -- The Rev. Pat Robertson says God has told him that storms and possibly a tsunami will hit America's coastline this year.

The founder of the Christian Broadcasting Network has told viewers of "The 700 Club" that the revelations came to him during his annual personal prayer retreat in January.

"If I heard the Lord right about 2006, the coasts of America will be lashed by storms," Robertson said May 8.

He added specifics in Wednesday's show.

I had half a bottle of rum and some beer tonight, and even I am not spouting such shit. How much more must I consume to hear the voices he is??

11. He's my greatest proof that there is no god.
Even though Robertson himself hasn't been able to extinguish my agnosticism, I would think that if there existed anything like the god he describes Pat would have been squished like a bug a long time ago.
The only thing that will shut him up? A ton of americans finally growing a brain and turning off the TV.

5. If (a) there is a God, and (b) he/she/it talks to people,
we can be reasonably sure that one of those people is *not* Pat Robertson.

12. What did Pat's God do to Iraq all these years?? Any killer
hurricanes?? Thousands of twisters?? How about 50 mil without healthcare, or perhaps an earthquake or two, a St. Helens?? Floods, there had to be floods, Oh... oh... wildfires consuming the countryside and the houses built too near tinderbox forests.... hmmmm interesting. The only bad things done to Iraq were done primarily by U.S.

13. Oh Goody Pat Robertson's talking to God again.
Let's see hurricane season is coming. It's pretty much inevitable that some part of the U.S. is going to be hit by storms and given the problems caused by Global Warming it's probably going to be bad.

Did it every occur to Roberson that the truly pissed off deity in question might not be the Christian God but Mother Nature herself.

20. Memo to Pat:
I spoke to God just a few hours ago. I mentioned your name. He said he doesn't know you, and never heard of you. I asked if he was serious, and he said, "No, honest to Myself, don't know the guy."

He said there's a lot of this going around lately, people saying they know him, have a personal relationship with him, yadda, yadda. Said it makes him laugh sometimes.

As for your comment, "If I heard the Lord right ...," God said that maybe you should ask whatever god it is you're channeling to give you better hearing. (And he totally cracked-up when he said that, being as he knows he's the one true God, no other gods before him and all). Let me tell you, you haven't LIVED until you've seen God ROFL like he did just then!

I was going to ask him what's in store for the country and the world this year. But I figure that's His business.

BTW, I KNOW the God I spoke to isn't the same one you represent, because the whole time we were together, he never advocated murdering anyone, and he didn't ask me for a DIME.

26. Ummm....isn't this the same information that the National Weather
Service gave us a few months ago? What he's saying is that there are going to be big storms during the summer (duh!) and there COULD be a big earthquake in the ocean around the ring of fire that might cause a tsunami. Those of us here in Pacific Northwest are well aware of that information, thankyouverymuch. Don't know if it came straight from God, but I read stuff about it in the Oregonian a few months ago.
