Let's just say that Teresa Heinz Kerry would never wear a ski parka with lift ticket attached to a holocaust memorial service and Lynne Cheney would never have marched against apartheid in South Africa. Teresa also saved her husband's health, if not his life by finding a pattern in her husband's medical results missed both by him and his doctor. Maybe Cheney would have led a healthier life maried to a woman as knowledgible on health as Teresa. When John Kerry describes her as brilliant it's clear he is totally impressed by her intelligence - and I assume that takes a lot.
