11. Actually, if it happens at all, you will be half right
The way they did it with Libby was that the Grand Jury actually indicted him on a Wednesday and Fitz announced it on Friday.

2. I actually thought it was going to be last Wednesday
but now, I think it will be Thursday. I think the GJ will meet tomorrow and the announcement will be Thursday when he turns himself in for processing.

I think I was a week and a day too early before, that's all.

8. It depends on how
much begging and pleading is going on behind the scenes. I think Ruskin is trying to call in every favor he ever thought possible in his life.

I am convinced Patrick has that pasty faced ferret fornicator on multiple counts and would not even let him plead to anything less than substantial prison time. This is what I feel is taking the time it has, even to this point.

I had thought it would be formally announced last Friday but that was when I was led to believe the grand jury was going to be meeting with Fitzgerald last Wednesday. To my best knowledge, that didn't happen. That caused me to believe it would be carried over to this week because the crucial day was missing.

I would be stunned to find that Jason steadfastly unwaivering--almost to the point of indignance--in his belief that he has credible sources confirming this indictment is taking place, would place his career stakes this high to be wrong.

I am using my own independent analysis to peer into my crystal ball and I see the same thing. Patrick Fitzgerald does not identify people as Official A in other individuals indictments and then let them go bopping on down the street.

So to put myself out there, I think tomorrow may be the "finishing touches" meeting with the grand jury, and the champagne will flow on Friday.

15. Didn't Mr. Fitzgerald give Rove 24 business hours to get his
affairs in order? I'm sure i read that in the Leapold story or later interview. 24 business hours from Friday afternoon would be this Thursday evening: four 8 hour days beginning on Monday: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday... which would make Thursday

the night before fitzmas.

19. Not a realistic consensus
Right now, 73% say Wednesday or Friday of this week. If a true betting line were put up, Rove would be a huge favorite not to be indicted by the end of the week.

41. Thursday-'24 hours' isn't '32 hours'...next business day after 24 business
Edited on Wed May-17-06 04:10 PM by tiptoe
hours begins Thursday, and presumbaly the Office of Special Counsel would start off the day with a Media Advisory, as it did for the Oct 28, 2005 announcement.

Why wasn't Thursday presented as one of the choices in the poll? Fridays are pegged as common indictment announcement days (e.g. Libby), but I'm assuming "24 business hours" is meaningful and not just approximate, because 1) TruthOut editors deeemed Leopold's sources reliable -- same ones who earlier informed him of the '250 pages of e-mail documents turned over to Fitzgerald in February' -- and 2) not just two but multiple sources presented the same details of the alleged meeting (according to Leopold)..."24 hours" presumably being one such key detail.

If the story proves false, I'd become suspicious that Leopold's sources for this story -- deemed reliable by Truthout editors -- had been manipulated to re-inforce Leopold with details of a false story...and I'd suspect Rove as the organizer of such a scheme.

Without presuming or speculating about countermeasure-precautions reporters-and-sources in DC may be taking to shield exposure by the NSA -- (who knows...maybe the NSA's a reason MSM/CM haven't yet two-sourced the Leopold story, assuming, that is, the story is factual) -- if contact numbers for Leopold's sources on the '250 emails to Fitzgerald' story had been identified and names then shared with the White House, I can imagine Rove (or associates) using those sources (instead of merely exposing them) to feed details of a false story to the reporter who "got it right" earlier, to undermine the credibilities of both Leopold (ala Dan Rather) and his sources.

Leopold said he'd expose his sources, if the story proved false. Exposure of sources -- whether duped or not -- coming from the reporter himself would not only be convenient for Rove and the WH, but it also would serve to cast a deeper chill on communications between media and potential sources.

40. I picked "this Friday" but I meant between now and Friday.
When was it that Rove was relieved of his policy duties? I think it was almost two weeks ago, but I really don't remember. I do remember thinking the indictment couldn't be far off when that happened, and gave it about two weeks. My choice doesn't have that much to do with Jason Leopold's story, which had the effect of confirming my earlier suspicions.
