Nancy Grace: What a wretched creature.
She emodies everything that just totally sucks about this absurd Bush era. Jeezus, why did America become such a bad joke?

God, I resent it.

Grace, Coulter, Limbaugh, Savage, Hannity, Malkin, Hume...all the rest of you vile assholes....just go the fuck away.

3. Grace's show is a slurry of haughty presumption and freak-show
gawking.

One of the worst things I've ever seen on a tv screen.

I can only hope she is devoured by escaped zoo animals soon.

8. Hi to you, Stevendsmith.
I think of the interviews Nanci Grace does on her program and then remember Jim Lehrer's interviews on PBS, and I'm in even MORE agreeement with your post here -- she is an embodiment of the worst this era has brought us.

You nailed it.

I envy you your state of residence & admire Sacramento. You folks often set the pace and show the way for the rest of the country, and especially in blue politics. Cheers to California and good wishes to you.

10. Loose
11th Circuit: Nancy Grace 'Played Fast and Loose' With Ethics
Federal appeals court raps former prosecutor

Jonathan Ringel
Fulton County Daily Report
05-04-2005

Nancy Grace, the host of a self-titled legal show on CNN Headline News, "played fast and loose" with her ethical duties as a Fulton County, Ga., prosecutor in 1990, a federal appeals panel has declared.

Monday's decision by the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals upheld a triple murder conviction won by Grace, explaining that her actions didn't change the result of the trial. It is the third time appellate courts have admonished Grace for her conduct as a prosecutor in Georgia. Grace served as an assistant district attorney in Fulton from 1987 to 1996, leaving that year to join Court TV as a commentator.

A sly prosecutor can hardly do wrong when it come to reversals/remands. It's called "harmless error" nowadays.

repugnant. I have written a few letters to CNN asking them where their "most RESPECTED news" diasappeared to, and reminding them that with the roster of people they have hired, how can they call it a "news" station. I do not watch either show as the sight and sound of these harridans makes me crazy. Edited to say that I only write the letters when my frustration level is very high. Makes me feel good to send poison missles.

13. Letters are a good idea...
But then smut seems to be more interesting to "the folks," as the Duke rape case gets more attention at some places like TalkLeft.com than other more sweeping issues. People like to play judge and jury, and trial in the media is the best opportunity. Most often, the discussions are like jury deliberations.

11. And, she lies...
Did Nancy Grace,
TV Crimebuster,
Muddy Her Myth?

By Rebecca Dana

Every crime-fighting superhero has a creation story. Nancy Grace, the prosecutor turned breakout star at CNN Headline News, has a particularly moving one. As she tells it, in the summer of 1980, she was a 19-year-old college student in small-town Georgia, engaged to Keith Griffin, a star third baseman for the Valdosta State University Blazers. The wedding was a few months away.

Then, one August morning, a stranger—a 24-year-old thug with a history of being on the wrong side of the law—accosted Griffin outside a convenience store. He shot him five times in the head and back, stole $35 from his wallet, and left him dead.

...

Because of what happened in Georgia, Ms. Grace has said over and over, she knows firsthand how the system favors hardened criminals over victims. It is the foundation of her judicial philosophy, her motivation in life, her casus belli.

And much of it isn’t true.

19. But her ratings are better with the lie...
Granted, television personalities are personas and often are not the real deal, but there is more than bad entertainment and a wasted hour going on here. A little thing called the Bill of Rights is at risk:

This case presents fundamental questions about the right of American citizens
to be free from indefinite detention by the government without charge or trial, the
power of the Executive branch to abbreviate due process of law during wartime, and
the role of the federal courts in resolving these issues. The appropriate balance
between the rights of citizens and the Executive power to defend against threats to
national security is an old question, see, e.g., Ex parte Bollman, 8 U.S. (4 Cranch) 75
(1807), and one that was answered by the Fourth Circuit in a fundamentally alarming
way.

That explains what Bush is trying to do and why it is so important.

What does it have to do with Nancy Grace? Well, it explains that, too (read between the lines).

When she is talking about a "beautiful" victim, and then snaps out of her act and says, "TIME FOR A COMMERCIAL!"

I cringe every time at how phony that is.

If she is Democratic, she's the kind Republicans love.

She lost me, permanently, in about the first 30 seconds, in which she was spouting bullshit about the infamous highly edited video tape.

I will never be able to take Nancy Grace seriously.
