I should start by saying I have no clue as to the veracity of the Rove indictment article. But I have noticed a glut of negative posts about him and Mr. Pitt. The latest one was basically a big middle finger to everyone who believes the story. Here's a suggestion-----If you think the story is bogus, go bitch to Truthout. DU is not responsible.

Because I couldn't believe what I was reading, and I was busy and wanted to ponder over it later, sort of think about if Will was alright, sometimes when people lash out they are only hurting themselves, and I was thinking about all the pressure Will had put himself under, the danger to his reputation, both with that post and the Leopold thing.

You know, like how loyal can you be to someone, what if they're taking you down but you're a loyal type person.. and I'm pretty sure he is loyal to Skinner, so it was just too much..

Plus I've posted on boards so loaded I couldn't believe I could still type, writing from the Lizard Layer of the brain, so I was sort of wondering how loaded he was, where on the onion skins of the brain he had drank himself to.. I'm no saint myself, and we've even drank together, bought Will some drinks when the DU party was happening in Boston during the Dem Convention, interviewed him for a film we were doing.

He offered his dad's help to me when I was being jailed by my exwife on bullshit charges, his dad being a big cheese, lawyer,head of the Dem party where he lives. His dad couldn't help me, but I heard from Will all about how proud he was of his dad doing his Nam stint.. I was drafted during Nam back in 71, and the times are very much alike.

I'm actually old enough to be Will's dad :)

I save a lot of stuff on my hard drive, like a year's worth of research on the Plame outing for when I was making my film "Rove's War", reading everything I could listening to people like Will and H2OMan, others who were putting info out there, matching to see who made the most sense, what was bullshit all that..

I was very careful to not put anything in my film that didn't check out, so that's one of the reasons I get pissed about the Leopold thing, if someone is a News Junkie (the name of his latest book about himself), and write things that look rushed to me, then don't check out, well, I spent a whole year of my life making sure what I put out there was solid.

But that's me, it's a new world now, the corporate media can lie all they want, doesn't mean we get to bend or twist facts to get ahead, truth is not for sale, it's too precious, and a powerful thing..

If they got it wrong, they must own it. If one of us criticizes one of their mistakes, it doesn't necessarily mean we 'hate' them. It means we demand more from our guys than we do from the other side.

You are right ... DU is not responsible for the article or their assertions. We are responsible when we condone their mistakes (if, in fact, any have been made here). By showing blind loyalty to them regardless of their actions, this is exactly what we are doing.

P.S. I am a huge fan of Will's. This isn't me bagging on him at all; it is me holding him to the high standard he has earned for himself.
