Gore to hit wiretaps Monday in D.C., Introduced by Repub....Bob Barr!
Edited on Thu Jan-12-06 02:55 PM by txindy
Bob Barr! Oh, you have GOT to read this!

Former Vice President Al Gore will deliver a scathing speech Monday at Constitution Hall in Washington -- just blocks from the White House -- at which he will declare America is faced with a constitutional crisis, RAW STORY has learned.

The Martin Luther King, Jr. Day speech is set to take place at noon at the Daughters of the American Revolution's Constitution Hall. Gore will be introduced by onetime Georgia Republican congressman Bob Barr.

1. AWESOME
Gore is the only Dem candidate that I am actually excited about. I wish he would run. I think he would really energize the base. And the far lefties. And yet he's middle-ground enough to win an election (again).

4. I agree about Gore being a worthy candidate
Oh, how I wish I could be there. Somehow I doubt the SCLM will cover this much. Or at all. :grr:

I just found the Bob Barr connection to be an absolute hoot! Yes, I'd say Bob is well and truly teed off about wiretapping. Good for him!

16. Sorry, I'm using an acronym, again
So-Called Liberal Media. I use MSM, too, but someone usually responds that it's no longer accurate and recommends SCLM. So,....

I think I need to add another sig line if I'm going to use an obscure acronym.

Sorry! :hi:

14. I am more than a little concerned/alarmed that
lately I've been agreeing a lot with Bob Barr. He's a guest editorial commentator in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and he is throughly disgusted with the Bush Administration.

19. I can understand how you feel. LOL
I seriously doubt I'll ever have reason to be conflicted about BugBoy DeLay, though. I'd rather have Barr, esp. after this latest news. It's still very surprising to me, that's why I was so amazed at the story.

I guess this proves that people can change - on one issue, at least. Baby steps. Whatever works.

So I'm grateful for the insight. Well, then, I guess I'll settle for his outrage over law breaking. I'll take what I can get, these days! ;)

7. I've never cared for Barr, the little I've come across him
But anyone who can stand up for his principles like this and reach across the aisle has earned my respect. A cautious respect, but respect, nevertheless. The man meant what he said when he criticized Junior and the wiretaps. Now he's following through and supporting Al Gore in his opposition to wiretapping. Yep, I'm impressed. With both of them.

This gives me hope that we will eventually be able to open more eyes and form alliances where none seemed possible. Fingers crossed, anyway.

30. Barr is more tolerable than most, because he seems principled
I can take that. I think he's wrong about most things--he really, really hates any expansion of government into any kind of social services--but he is consistent in his beliefs, and he's willing to work with people on the other side in defense of civil liberties.

If only all Repubs were like that...

21. I'm coming around to that thought, myself.
People are so fed up, so disgusted, so broke, and so appalled that they may grab on to Gore as the anchor they need. They certainly recall that they almost had him for president in 2000 (and DID elect him), so perhaps they'll see that his governing ability and gravitas (mocked by the media) are exactly what they need. What we all need.

Works for me. :toast:

He may have his privacy, esp. as he's also fighting for ours. Considering his behavior towards the Clinton Admin., I'm impressed that he's working with Gore, now. Very impressed. He must be deeply angry about this Cabal.

He's not the only one.

Oh well, Bob Barr is actually on the corre t side for once, rather than just being on the right side.

However much I disliked him earlier, he has been quite vocal with concern of the PATRIOT Act and civil liberties.

Gore as usual, will kick ass I'm sure.
